Assistant Project Manager
Job Description
Position Summary:
The Assistant Project Manager (APM) will work under the direction of the Project Executive and assist the Field Manager to support active projects and construction efforts. The ideal candidate has strong organization skills, reliable, a leader and has a working knowledge of NYC plumbing and sprinkler systems. This position includes exposure to both field coordination and office tasks such as estimating, procurement, and document control.
Key Responsibilities:
β’ Assist in managing plumbing and sprinkler projects from submittals through closeout
β’ Perform basic estimating and material takeoffs from drawings and specs
β’ Support bid preparation and pricing for bids and change orders
β’ Coordinate and track submittals, RFIs, permits, and inspections
β’ Communicate with superintendents, foremen, suppliers, general contractors and subcontractors
β’ Maintain organized project documentation including drawings, logs, change orders, RFIs, compliance records
β’ Attend and document job meetings with GCs & Clients
β’ Help track job costs, deliveries, labor hours, and scheduling updates
β’ Support compliance with NYC DOB, DEP, FDNY, and NFPA standards
β’ Provide punch list closeouts and project turnover
Requirements:
β’ 1β3 years of experience in construction, preferably in plumbing and/or sprinkler systems
β’ Familiarity with NYC plumbing and sprinkler codes (NYC Plumbing Code, NFPA, FDNY)
β’ Experience reading construction drawings and performing takeoffs
β’ Basic knowledge of estimating, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Bluebeam
β’ Organized, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple tasks under deadlines
β’ Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively
β’ Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or relevant experience preferred
β’ Valid driverβs license and willingness to travel to job sites in NYC

Pay: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
