OVERVIEW:

Assistant Sourcing & Product Development Manager

The Assistant Sourcing & Product Development Manager supports the Global Sourcing and Product Development Manager in the management of the pre-production stages of the product life cycle and coordinates the greater product development process for their brand(s). Owns proto sample process & is the first to handle all incoming proto sample inventory; Monitors process for on time delivery and is responsible for tracking fabric development and proto sample status. Creates and runs Central America WIP reporting, highlights any issues. Understands component costing and how to build sourcing strategy. 

Job Duties & Responsibilities

Works side by side with manager to understand the brand’s global sourcing strategy. Participates in meetings with cross functional partners to gather next steps, follow ups and recapping meeting action points as relates to product development. Communicate and follow up with vendors and business partners on a daily basis. Present ideas/opportunities to enhance efficiencies in the product development process. Proficient in PLM, ecVision. Runs and analyzes reports as needed.

Monitors and communicates the category’s sample & fabric/trim development and approval process to ensure on time sample delivery. Responsible for tracking WIP report of the brand’s production in the Americas according to timeline and elevates status/issues to manager. Understands component costing skills for category/initial costing and reviews cost breakdown sheets for accuracy.

Understands key vendors for brand. Assists in gathering vendor projections by category/brand in partnership with product management. Assists manager in the hand-off between pre-production and production.

Develop a strong working relationship with cross function team. With support from manager, develop knowledge of product development and sourcing by attending conferences, meetings, and industry events.
