Overview
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Assistant Sous Chef to join our culinary team in a dynamic and fast-paced kitchen environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in culinary arts, with experience in fine dining and food service management. As an Assistant Sous Chef, you will play a vital role in supporting the Executive Chef in overseeing kitchen operations, ensuring high-quality food preparation, and maintaining an efficient workflow.
Responsibilities
• Assist the Executive Chef in menu planning and food preparation to ensure exceptional dining experiences.
• Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
• Manage inventory levels, including ordering supplies and maintaining stock to prevent shortages.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations while maintaining cleanliness and organization in the kitchen.
• Train new kitchen staff on food preparation techniques, safety procedures, and company standards.
• Collaborate with the culinary team to create innovative dishes that reflect seasonal ingredients and customer preferences.
• Monitor food quality during preparation and presentation to uphold our standards of excellence.
• Participate in shift management by coordinating staff schedules and delegating tasks as needed.
Qualifications
• Proven experience as a Assistant Sous or in a similar role within a fine dining or upscale restaurant environment.
• Strong culinary skills with a solid understanding of food management principles.
• Experience in inventory management and cost control within a kitchen setting.
• Excellent team management skills with the ability to motivate and lead a diverse group of culinary professionals.
• Knowledge of various cooking techniques, cuisines, and presentation styles.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with kitchen staff and front-of-house teams.
