Who We Are:

Assistant Technical Designer

Reformation is looking for an awesome assistant technical designer who will link the design department and production to ensure that all designs translate to amazing garments. We are looking for a full-time, super-efficient, hard-working team member who will make sure our clothes look great and measure well. The role includes partaking in the fit process from design to release to include PPs and TOPs, generating very clear measurements of each fit and pointed tech packs, and working closely with our design and development departments.

What you’ll do:
 
Development 

• Initial TP set up based on Pass Offs
• Shipping reference samples to factories

 
Fittings

• Check in all fit samples for weekly fittings Tue / Thurs
• Spec fit samples (Highlighting any major issues)
• Review construction and make notes in comment section
• Assist in fittings ie. take photos, organize samples, assist w. pinning/marking, grabbing additional samples needed for references, taking notes
• Input images from fitting onto drive
• Input images from fitting into corresponding TPs
• Sketch updates in Illustrator (Minor changes ie. deleting topstitch, adding buttons etc)

 
Organization

• Organizing and maintain fit / PPS samples
• Organizing and maintain fit block library
• Maintain pattern library / archive
   

Chase

• Initial TP set up and send to factory
• Ownership of comments / follow up with factories through to bulk approval
   

Counter Sourcing 

• Initial TP set up and send to factory
   

Tracking 

• Fit sample tracking to improve sample turnaround times ie. 21 days

 
What you’ll need:

• Bachelor’s Degree preferred
• 1 - 3 years experience in technical design of apparel or relevant training
• Extreme attention to detail and accuracy, as well as ability to prioritize and make quick decisions
• Superior organizational skills and excellent communication skills; team oriented; highly detail oriented and meticulous
• Thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
• Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines, balance creativity with technical capability, and interpret design sketches for tech packs
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, G Suite
