Purpose of the job:
The AVP, Digital Strategy (Business Development and Market Intelligence), is responsible for developing and executing strategic initiatives to enhance market intelligence capabilities and drive business development activities within the Digital Strategy Division. This role involves gathering, analyzing, and disseminating market insights, as well as fostering relationships with key business units to support their growth and strategic goals. Business development with the business units, leveraging frontier technologies offered by startups and tech firms is an exciting area of focus. The role is suitable for someone who is entrepreneurial and has the passion to create future business opportunities in commercial banking.Â
Primary Responsibilities
Strategic
Develop and implement that align with the division’s goals and objectives.Identify emerging market trends and opportunities to inform strategic planning and business development activities Collaborate with business units to identify and pursue new business opportunities.
Customer
Gather and provide thought leadership and expertise in market intelligence to support customer-facing teams in their engagements. Develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders to drive business development initiatives that can benefit either the business or our clients
People
Cooperate with colleagues both in Singapore and ASEAN and deepen relationships with stakeholders
Other/ Control
Ensure compliance with the relevant regulations and limits. Maintain good professional knowledge based on industry trends, products, the relevant laws and regulations
Qualification & Experience
- Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Computer Science or similar fields.Â
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex market data and trends.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills to effectively convey insights and business development opportunities to stakeholders. Â
- Proficiency in market research tools and techniques.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, e.g. Global Commercial Banking.
- Interest and passion in frontier technologies and their applications in business domains e.g. Generative AI, Web3, fintech, ecommerce, Saas etc.Â
- Project management with consulting mindset are necessary for effective business development
- Professional certifications in market research, business development, or related disciplines are an advantage
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in market intelligence, market research, business development, or a related field.
- Experience in developing and implementing market intelligence and business development in a financial services or consulting environment.
