Position Specific Description

The Integrated Supply Chain (ISC) Logistics Materials Management team is looking for an Associate Supply Chain Specialist to join their team in Riviera Beach, FL. The selected candidate for this role will analyze, manage, and improve complex transportation-logistics functions in support of NextEra Energy's solar construction efforts.

Core Duties• Managing third-party logistics (3PL) and asset-based transportation contracts to support the distribution and acquisition of solar material assets.• Planning and coordinating complex, large-scale, material projects utilizing diverse modes of transportation.• Analyzing and interpreting statistical, transportation-market data to support sourcing efforts.• Evaluate existing capabilities and establish new systems and processes to enhance current and emerging transportation networks.• Facilitate and manage inbound and outbound warehouse functions.• Participate in Sourcing and Materials Management team projects.

The position requires strong analytical, organizational, project management, and interpersonal skills. Background in Procurement, Materials Management, or Logistics preferred.

Job Overview

Employees in this position order materials and ensure their availability for an assigned business area. This role forecasts and plans for material needs and coordinates material movement. This job initiates, negotiates, and contracts spot-buys and assists with managing the relationship with related suppliers.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Executes the materials management process for assigned business units
  • Initiates, negotiates and contracts spot-buys and manages relationship with suppliers
  • Analyzes responses to simple bid requests, distills commercial differences, and makes succinct recommendations for contract award
  • Prepares simple materials supply agreements containing standard terms and conditions with little management oversight
  • Conducts routine negotiations successfully
  • Negotiates and executes purchase orders and resolves invoice discrepancies
  • Participates on materials management project teams
  • Provides market data to support supplier selection, qualification and on-going performance management
  • Conducts business dealings with integrity and regard for corporate guidelines, legal and environmental regulations
  • Able to physically receive, issue, warehouse and ship materials as required
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned
