Job Description
Job Duties: Associate with Goldman Sachs & Co. LLC in Dallas, Texas. Conduct fundamental credit analysis of structured financing transactions based on quantitative and qualitative credit factors; this includes evaluating the risk resilience of the structures under baseline and stress scenarios. Perform counterparty assessments, including recommending appropriate internal risk rating for each counterparty and setting credit limits. Analyze third party loan originator credit underwriting policies across a variety of asset classes including residential mortgages. Review derivative transactions while ensuring appropriate documentation and risk mitigants to protect against default and minimize potential losses. Coordinate with teams across the firm to fully analyze transactions and ensure appropriate due diligence, documentation, risk mitigants, and limits in order to minimize defaults and maximize recoveries. Perform regular sector analyses to assess portfolio concentrations and trends and report findings and recommendations to senior management.
Job Requirements: Master's degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field and one (1) year of experience in the job offered or in a related role OR Bachelor's degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field and three (3) years of experience in the job offered or a related role. Prior experience must include one (1) year (with Master's) or three (3) years (with Bachelor's) with: assisting with reviewing and underwriting structured financing transactions, including collateral of at least $50mm; contributing to credit risk assessments and assigning risk ratings; determining and applying regulatory rating requirements to credit risk assessments; communicating and escalating risk assessments, recommendations, or decisions to senior leadership; performing sector analysis using third party market research and data; and guiding junior analysts on financing transactions.
