Job Duties: Associate with Goldman Sachs Bank USA in Salt Lake City, Utah. Support GS Bank's Financial Crime Compliance division (FCC) to ensure that the business operates in accordance with all legal and regulatory requirements and all Financial Crime Compliance standards relating to anti-money laundering (AML), counter terrorism financing, fraud, and other financial crimes. Conduct investigations that detect and report suspicious activity to governmental authorities and enable GS Bank to form sound judgments concerning reputational and other risks and meets expectations of regulators and other compliance stakeholders. Draft and summarize investigative findings and clearly provide relevant Know Your Customer (KYC) and Transactional information to support the decision being made as to report the suspicious activity findings or mitigate the risk to the bank. Present all relevant suspicious activity identified in investigations and provide recommendations of required actions items, including account terminations, controlling of entities, law enforcement reach outs, etc., to key stakeholders for their knowledge and approval of action items. Document and report all findings in compliance case management software timely to meet regulation deadlines. Research and summarize relevant financial crime policies published by regulators in centralized web application. Understand and apply the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), USA Patriot Act, and any other Financial Crime regulatory guidance. Develop FCC risk model and optimize investigation processes from querying and analyzing large dataset by using advanced technologies (i.e. SQL, Alteryx, etc.) to upgrade AML program. Collaborate and communicate Compliance requirements for consumption by Engineering and identify opportunities for process improvements in various areas of transaction surveillance operations and practices.

Job Requirements: Bachelor's degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Finance, Accounting, Business Analytics, Legal or a related field. Three (3) years of experience in the job offered or in a related role. Must have three (3) years of experience with: reviewing transactional records and identifying high risk activity and/or data discrepancies occurring in accounts, including concerning patterns and unusual breaks; evaluating and reconciling client and third-party information through multiple internal and external systems and or web applications to identify potential financial, operational, and/or reputational risks exposed to relevant business; presenting of relevant findings identified during transactional reviews to key stakeholders and providing recommendations of reporting, and account verification; financial risk guidelines, including experience drafting and narrating risk incidents into a document; financial products offered by the bank, such as credit cards, deposit accounts, and loans, and leveraging that knowledge to help identify any potential risk; implementing and recommending solutions to improve data quality through analyzing general financial and banking related regulations as well as the customer agreement; developing and visualizing workflows, procedures, and policies to document in web applications or data servers; management of end-to-end workflow processes to improve and optimize operational efficiency by performing data analytics and collaborating with departments, such as engineering or business strategy; and conducting transaction reviews in a timely manner to ensure risks are appropriately being address and regulatory deadlines are being met.
