The Associate Account Representative (AAR) will participate in Daikin Applied's Ignite Sales Development Program to learn to be a successful salesperson at the Company. The Ignite Sales Development Program will follow an exciting and rigorous learning curriculum including in-person training, virtual instructor-led training (VILT), and self-directed learning modules covering topics such as HVAC equipment, sales methodologies and techniques, Daikin services and solutions, and tools and technologies.

The skills developed during the Ignite Sales Development Program will prepare the AAR to develop and maintain customer relationships in order to sell preventative maintenance contracts, service and repair work, and solutions on commercial HVAC products and retrofit/upgrades. The AAR also performs work under guided supervision as well as handles basic issues/problems and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff and management.

This position is slated to start in June 2024.

A Day in the Life:

  • Attends and successfully completes the Daikin Applied Ignite Sales Development Program.
  • Builds strong relationships with critical program and field leaders, mentors, peers, and support staff.
  • Successfully completes all assigned in-person, virtual-instructor lead, and self-directed trainings and assessments in accordance with due dates.
  • Travels regularly while enrolled in the Ignite Sales Development Program for in-person collaboration, training with peers and Ignite team members, and Daikin Applied site visits.
  • Partners with local office team members to understand critical district roles via job shadowing. Travels local territory with team members to customer sites as needed (up to daily).
  • Develops knowledge of applicable processes, tools, and technology to enable and support sales activities (estimating, preparing quotes, credit terms, contract preparation, etc.). Applies acquired knowledge by supporting office sales activities.
  • Successfully explains and differentiates Daikin's solutions strategy, as well as service and solutions sales benefits, for lines of business (maintenance agreements, service and repair, turnkey, rental).
  • Participates in sales methodology training. Effectively leverages and demonstrates knowledge of sales methodologies with customers. Develops and applies skills to properly qualify customers for service sales.
  • Develops knowledge of HVAC equipment fundamentals and Daikin equipment product line.
  • Applies program knowledge to compile lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads, based on information from Daikin installed equipment database, industry sources, business directories, vertical market information or any other lead generation source.
  • Participates as a team member to complete project during the course of the Ignite program. Applies knowledge acquired in program to find a solution to a real-world customer issue.

What you will Bring (Minimum Qualifications):

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Communication, Engineering or related field
  • A strong sense of mechanical/technical aptitude/ability
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong organization, problem-solving, and customer service skills
  • Ability to influence the market demonstrated through coursework or previous work/internship experience
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable motor vehicle record
  • Ability to travel regularly during program and in local territory while working with sales mentor

    • Ability to travel locally on daily basis after program conclusion
  • This role is ineligible for immigration sponsorship

Preferred:

  • Emphasis, certificate or minor in Sales
  • Previous internship or work experience in sales or customer service
