The various roles in Finance and Accounting are critical to enabling our internal business partners to deliver on our promise. This role requires a strong accounting and technology acuity, proven analytical skills, ability to collaborate with business partners, strong problem-solving skills and to have an ownership mentality. It is a key contributor to the CFR team. The person will be responsible for many aspects within the month-end closing process as well as the Unrealized Profit in Inventory (UPI) accounting processes.

Responsibilities of this role include assisting with the UPI accounting and other corporate consolidation activities, provide accurate and timely accounting guidance to affiliates and business partners, coordinate corporate consolidation related SAP system changes, testing and training. Additionally, you will troubleshoot accounting and report issues with business unit and financial analysts across the company. This role may also be involved with external management reporting processes on a quarterly basis, pursuing opportunities for streamlining, improving and automating process, and special projects or consulting, as needed. The position requires cross functional collaboration with several other teams to support our financial organization.

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience
  • Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States. Lilly does not anticipate providing sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B or TN status) for this employment position.

Additional Preferences:

  • Multi-national corporation experience
  • Cost accounting/supply chain experience in manufacturing environment
  • Extensive knowledge of Excel as well as solid understanding of SAP or other comparable system
  • Ability to learn, understand and develop high functioning skills in an enterprise system
  • Strive to produce high quality work with excellent attention to detail
  • High learning agility
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize responsibilities and ability to perform well under pressure
  • Ability to work both on a team and independently and self-manage various projects simultaneously
  • Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills

Other Information:

  • Position location: Indianapolis, IN, Lilly Corporate Center
  • On-site presence of over 50% required, in accordance with current financial organization requirements that may be subject to change.
