The Role

IEQ Capital is looking for a motivated professional to join our Foster City-based team as a Research Associate focusing primarily on Alternative Investments with some exposure to Liquid Investments. This Research Associate will work closely with the rest of the client-facing team to manage important elements of the investment process. Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Conducting due diligence on Alternative Investments including but not limited to:
  • Market Analysis, Downside Scenario Modelling, Risk and Return Analysis
• Participating in Investment Committee meetings and contributing to the due diligence of a prospective Alternative Investment as it moves along in our internal pipeline
• Assisting in onboarding new funds to the IEQ Alternative Investments platform that successfully make it through our internal pipeline
• Monitoring existing Alternative Investments across multiple asset classes (real estate, private credit, private equity, etc.) on an ongoing basis and producing relevant written communications for both internal and external consumption
• Communicating Alternative Investment portfolio developments to the client services teams
• Participating in outbound sourcing of new Alternative Investment fund managers and ideas

Qualifications

• Bachelors’ Degree required
• 1-2+ years of relevant internships/work experience helpful. Open to new graduates
• Experience with financial modeling and data analysis / visualization is a plus (i.e. Python, SQL, Excel, R, Salesforce, etc.)
• Academic understanding of financial markets, major asset classes and macroeconomics
• Be able to multi-task, meet tight deadlines, and work independently
• Be able to perform in an ever-changing high-pressure environment
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and writing skills

Career Path

You should expect to hold the Research Associate position for 18 - 24 months. During that time, you will be evaluated on the impact of your contributions, taking on more responsibilities as you acquire the necessary skills to move on to a more senior role.

Compensation

• The salary range for this role is $80,000-$100,000, depending on skills and experience.
