Associate Art Director
Job Description
The Associate Art Director is responsible for leading the creative vision of Phyn from ideation to execution of marketing-driven projects. A complete understanding of all visual communications, including branding, typography, layout, product/lifestyle photo direction, motion, video, and interactive design, and the ability to work with marketing, copywriting, and photo/video studio services to create distinct branded communications is required. Projects include but are not limited to social, multimedia/web, packaging, tradeshow/events, retail merchandising, and print collateral.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Possess a sophisticated sense of design and the ability to develop and implement conceptual ideas and give effective presentations.
- Create and develop consistent Design Language and Standards.
- Lead social creative on ideation and creation of content for organic and paid media.
- Design and produce the highest quality brand asset and collateral for web, packaging, multimedia, tradeshow materials, marketing, and other related projects as needed.
- Lead and execute visual communication strategy for product launches across all marketing channels.
- Coordinate consistency across all media types to image and promote the best Phyn brand message.
- Collaborate with Product Design and UX/UI teams to ensure high-level brand concepts are seamlessly applied throughout marketing and product execution for a cohesive message.
- Demonstrate innovative ideas and cost-effective execution methods.
- Help plan and maintain creative budgets across projects throughout the year.
- Manage, organize, and be able to complete multiple time-sensitive projects successfully.
- Responsible for 100% accuracy and proofing of all materials produced.
- Perform all other duties as assigned and required.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- BFA in Graphic Design or a comparable discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years as a graphic designer.
- Photo and video art direction experience for both product and lifestyle.
- Experience in optimizing creative assets for web, mobile, and interactive, particularly for global brands and e-commerce sites.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills. Ability to clearly express written and graphical concepts to other team members.
- Proficient with Mac platform software, including but not limited to Adobe CC photo, video and illustration programs, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to interact positively and effectively with employees at all levels within the organization and external vendors.
- Experience in 3d modeling for consumer electronics or IoT.
- Photo and video production capabilities.

Location:
El Segundo, California
The starting base salary for this position is:
$90,000 to $110,000
Factors such as geographic location, academic credentials, relevant experience, and specific knowledge, skills and abilities will influence the actual salary offered. In addition to a competitive market-based salary, compensation also includes a performance-based bonus, and in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
