Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY:Â
The Benefits Coordinator is responsible for assisting with the administration of all benefits and retirement programs, including but not limited to medical, dental, vision, life insurance, Leave of Absence Policy including short- and long-term disability, and 401(k) plan, and other company benefits.
Hybrid-2-3 days in Austin Office
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Administer various employee benefits programs, such as group health, dental and vision, accident and disability, life insurance, 401(k), and wellness benefits, tuition assistance, PTO programs.Â
- Assist with Open Enrollment process.Â
- Assist with benefit communicationÂ
- Conduct benefits orientations and explain benefits self-enrollment system.Â
- Maintain employee benefits filing systems and ensure benefits changes are entered appropriately in payroll system for payroll deduction.Â
- Assist employees with health, dental, life, disability and other related benefit claims.Â
- Verify the calculation of the monthly premium statements for all group insurance policies and maintain statistical data relative to premiums, claims and costs. Resolve administrative problems with the carrier representatives.Â
- Work with accounting to fund Health Savings Accounts, 401K contributions, and RRSP monies • Review and respond to unemployment claims with appropriate documentation. Review monthly unemployment statements.Â
- Prepare and set up meetings designed to help employees obtain information and understand company benefits and other related incentive programs. Ensure distribution of required employee notices. • Responds to benefits inquiries from managers and employees on plan provisions, benefits enrollments, status changes and other general inquiries.Â
- Processes and administers all leave-of-absence requests and disability paperwork: medical, personal, disability and FMLA.Â
- Effectively interprets FMLA and ADA implications as they relate to leaves of absences/disabilities including state specific disability plans and leave of absence lawsÂ
- Oversight over COBRA administrationÂ
- Responds to 401(k) inquiries from managers and employees relating to enrollments, plan changes, loans, hardship withdrawals, and contribution amounts. Manages the annual catch-up contribution enrollment. • Provides necessary reports for allocation/billing charges. Reconciles vendor invoices for payments • Completes the annual 401k plan audits and assists with the end of year compliance and discrimination testingÂ
- Helps to maintain vendor interfacesÂ
- Assist HR manager in completing benefits reporting requirements including requirements under the ACA • Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in employee benefits administration.
• No previous experience in benefits required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
• Strong work ethic and drive for continuous learning.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT:Â
- Duties typically performed in an office setting. Â
- This position requires the ability to use a computer keyboard, communicate over the telephone and read printed material.Â
- Duties may require working outside normal working hours (evenings & weekends) at times.
The pay range is listed and actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years & depth of experience, certifications and specific office location. This may differ in other locations due to cost of labor considerations.
