Job Description

About Clear Street:

Clear Street is building financial infrastructure for today’s institutions. Founded in 2018, Clear Street is an independent, non-bank prime broker replacing the legacy infrastructure used across capital markets.

We started from scratch by building a completely cloud-native clearing and custody system designed for today’s complex, global market. Clear Street’s proprietary prime brokerage platform adds significant efficiency to the market, while focusing on minimizing risk and cost for clients. Our goal is to create a single source-of-truth platform for every asset class, in every country, and in any currency.

By combining highly-skilled product and engineering talent with seasoned finance professionals, we’re building the essentials to compete in today’s fast-paced markets.

The Role:

Clear Street is disrupting the institutional brokerage and clearing business by modernizing archaic industry segments with new technology. We’re changing the way institutional investors interact with the markets; offering an alternative to working with big banks. The primary role of capital introduction is connecting Clear Street clients with potential investors, including institutions, family offices, high-net-worth individuals, and other capital sources.

The Team:

The team sits within Clear Street’s Prime Services business, which provides financing, securities lending, and other services to hedge fund clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with existing and potential investors.
  • Understand the investment preferences, goals, and risk tolerances of these investors.
  • Develop an understanding of Clear Street’s clients’ products and strategies.
  • Review and make suggestions on how to edit/improve marketing materials for our client’s marketing presentations and materials
  • Attend industry conferences, seminars, and events to build on our current network of investors and build a larger network of potential investors.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, market dynamics, and competitor analysis to better position the firm's products.
  • Maintain the CRM and prepare reports and analyses on investor relations activities, capital raising progress, and the effectiveness of marketing efforts.
  • Work with compliance and legal teams to ensure that all controls and policies are being followed and investor communication and marketing efforts comply with relevant regulatory requirements and internal policies.

Requirements:

  • At least two (2) years of relevant experience in investor relations, capital introduction, or sales within the asset management industry.
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, business, economics, or a related field. An MBA or CFA may be preferred.
  • Candidates will need to have or pass the Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) exam, the Series 7 top off exam, and the Series 63 top exam.
  • Understanding of financial markets, investment strategies, and fund structures.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Networking skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse investor groups.
  • Analytical and research skills to understand investor needs and market trends.
  • Attention to detail, organization, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

We Offer:

The Base Salary Range for this role is $120,000 - $125,000. This range is representative of the starting base salaries for this role at Clear Street. Where a candidate falls in this range will be based on job related factors such as relevant experience, skills, and location. This range represents Base Salary only, which is just one element of Clear Street's total compensation. The range stated does not include other factors of total compensation such as bonuses or equity.

At Clear Street, we offer competitive compensation packages, company equity, 401k matching, gender neutral parental leave, and full medical, dental and vision insurance. Our belief has always been that we are better as a business when we are all together in person. As such, beginning on January 2, 2023, we are requiring employees to be in the office 4 days per week. In-office benefits include lunch stipends, fully stocked kitchens, happy hours, a great location, and amazing views.

Our top priority is our people. We’re continuously investing in a culture that promotes collaboration. We help each other through challenges and celebrate each other's successes. We believe that modern workplaces succeed by virtue of having high-performance workforces that are diverse — in ideas, in cultures, and in experiences. We put in the effort to make such a workplace a daily reality and are proud to be an equal opportunity employer. #LI-Hybrid
