Associate Category Manager
Job Description
The Associate Procurement Category Manager is an entry-level role which globally sources and contracts for supplies and services with competitive costs in their assigned industry/ies to help drive the continued growth of Gartner. This individual uses agile sourcing methods, fact-based negotiations and value analysis to support company and business unit initiatives. S/he identifies opportunities to bring innovation and continuous improvement to the organization. S/he develops long term category growth plans, analyzes supply markets, selects suitable suppliers, and negotiates agreements which minimize third party risks and deliver best in class value to the organization.
What You'll Do:
- Provide input to improve collaboration, processes, templates, solutions and results across Gartner.
- Build strong partnerships across geographically dispersed internal stakeholders and supplier base.
- Create, implement and refine 3 year global category strategies which align with business and
stakeholder objectives. - Lead the strategic sourcing process and conduct RFx (RFP, RFI, RFQ) initiatives.
- Advise business partners and provide them with market intelligence on current trends, benchmarks, vendor capabilities and changes within the supplier landscape to facilitate the evaluation of supplier bids and supplier selection.

- Develop negotiation strategies and lead competitive contract negotiations delivering the best value to Gartner. Facilitate the completion and execution of master agreements, professional service agreements, NDAs, SOWs, Order Forms and other contractual documents.
- Understand Gartner's preferred legal and business contract terms, conditions, SLAs and acceptable fallback positions. Include the law department, IT, Information Security, Risk Management and Research analysts as necessary to negotiate best-in-class agreements.
- Lead the development, evaluation, and presentation of business cases, TCO, and cost/benefit analyses to stakeholders and executives.
- Manage relationships with key strategic suppliers to foster innovation and successful supplier performance. Support business stakeholders in resolving supplier performance or contractual issues.
- Leverage industry associations, Gartner's Research & Advisory, peers and stakeholders to identify and implement category best practices.
- Master the use of available digital solutions for e-sourcing, spend analysis, contract lifecycle management, supplier risk management and procure-to-pay. Actively participate in new solution scoping and implementation.
- Complete all regulatory and department required reporting.
- Conduct contract negotiations and activities to support company acquisitions and divestitures.
