MITRE's Nuclear Enterprise Programs Division has an excellent opportunity to be part of a dynamic technical team having substantial impact on the design and development of next generation DoD communications systems. Our work focuses on Satellite Communications, HF and VLF communications in a benign and Nuclear environment.

We are seeking to hire highly motivated undergraduate and graduate entry-level new grads with skills that span the gamut of Systems Engineering topics, from requirements development, system modeling, complex trade studies and multidisciplinary communications.

Join our team and apply your technical expertise by developing, applying, prototyping and testing state-of-the-art digital communications technologies, such as:

• Communication system
• Development of Ground and Airborne Satellite communications terminals
• Development of Beyond Line of Sight (BLOS) communications terminals in HF and VLF frequencies

Roles and Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

• Generate, decompose, and review system requirements.
• Model system requirements, behaviors and interfaces through Digital Engineering processes and tools
• Support communications systems development, analysis, and testing.
• Develop and evaluate system designs and architectures.
• Work in collaboration with other engineers and technicians in a team environment with the development and execution of test plans and procedures in support of existing and developmental communication systems.
• Analyze and resolve integrated communications hardware and software problems in a timely and accurate fashion.
• Work in collaboration with other engineers and technicians in a team environment to develop and execute test plans and procedures in support of existing and developmental communication systems
• Develop and evaluate system designs and architectures
• Support communications systems development, analysis, and testing

Minimum Qualifications:

• Requires less than 1 year experience with a Bachelor's in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline
• Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain Top Secret clearance.
• Understanding of communications theory, link budgets, communications protocols, networking, etc.
• Experience with C++, Python, MATLAB, or other modeling tools
• Experience with data analysis or field and lab equipment
• Interest in solving problems across multiple engineering disciplines to provide solutions to complex problems

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline
• Possess an active Top-Secret clearance
• INCOSE Certification
• Experience with digital engineering and model-based systems engineering tools (e.g., DOORS, Cameo Enterprise Architecture)
