Associate Consultant Co-op

Position Overview

Putnam is looking for top performers to join their firm. As an Associate Consultant Co-op you will gain insight into the strategic issues facing today's life sciences companies, as well as the specific challenges impacting the healthcare industry. The complexities of the industry provide an opportunity to gain comprehensive knowledge of both the science and business sides of healthcare. Co-ops work in case teams of 4-7 professionals led by a Manager or Partner. While responsibilities vary greatly from case to case, they are instrumental in developing the building blocks to identify critical issues, develop key analytical components, and ultimately, drive conclusions and recommendations. Through this process, co-ops develop sound business and strategy fundamentals and a thorough understanding of solving complex business issues. 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Prepare and conduct primary research with physicians, patients, and managed care
• Gather secondary research from healthcare literature and internal sources 
• Analyze client and market data 
• Work with project teams to develop client presentations 
• Structure complex strategic and analytical problems that constitute the core of the team’s work

Desired Skills and Experience:

• The ideal candidate for the co-op position will be a student pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degrees, whose educational background demonstrates success in quantitative and qualitative analysis and who is strongly considering consulting as a future career option.
• An interest in healthcare and pharmaceuticals is advantageous, as are previous scholastic, extra-curricular and internship-related experience that demonstrates analytical rigor and leadership capabilities. 
• The co-op program will run during the Fall 2023 period (July – December).
• Looking for students who will be graduating in Winter 2023 or Spring 2024.
