The Options Clearing Corporation (OCC) is the world's largest equity derivatives clearing organization. Founded in 1973, OCC is dedicated to promoting stability and market integrity by delivering clearing and settlement services for options, futures and securities lending transactions. As a Systemically Important Financial Market Utility (SIFMU), OCC operates under the jurisdiction of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), and the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System. OCC has more than 100 clearing members and provides central counterparty (CCP) clearing and settlement services to 19 exchanges and trading platforms. Summary
Reporting to the Executive Creative Director and working closely with the entire corporate communications team, the communications associate will assist in the development, execution, and day-to-day communications activities for OCC, including design, creative and external relations.Â
From a creative and design perspective:
- Manage the corporate communications project workflow process.
- Support communication production design, using branded templates, to engage and inform colleagues and external audiences about the company’s mission, values, activities and milestones.
- Work with printers and promotional merchandise vendors to obtain quotes and produce materials.
- Track requests for OCC’s intellectual property, including our logo and brand images, to ensure correct assets are delivered to relevant stakeholders and are cataloged
- Assist with onsite internal video production.
- Manage internal talent releases and maintain up-to-date image library.
- Support other creative activities, and perform other duties as needed.
 From an external relations perspective:
- Work with the external communications team to execute public relations strategies.
- Draft and distribute OCC news releases, including monthly volume releases.
- Manage calendars for editorial content and speaking engagements.
- Monitor news and produce daily summary reports for internal distribution.
- Track and measure results of PR and social media efforts.
- Manage requests for sponsorships and charitable giving initiatives and assist with the creation of branded advertising and collateral for external events.
- Support other external activities, and perform other duties as needed.

Some travel may be required – less than 10 percent

- Strong design, writing, and verbal communications skills
- Good organizational and project management skills
- Ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines
- Ability to work with senior-level staff
Technical Skills:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator)
Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Design, Marketing, Communications or a related discipline; OR an equivalent combination of education and work experience
- 1-2 years’ experience in design, communications or public relations
