Associate Counsel

We are looking for a dynamic in-house counsel to join our legal team. Reporting to our General Counsel, you’ll use your expertise to support and advise our business and operational units, focusing on contractual arrangements and risk mitigation. You’ll play a crucial role in maintaining organizational efficiency while providing partnership to a wide variety of colleagues within the company.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Negotiate and structure client agreements based with a particular focus on digital design, development, and marketing services
• Provide general in-house legal services to and advise Code and Theory's business and operational units, with emphasis on contractual arrangements and risk mitigation
• Review internal policies for legal compliance (labor and employment, privacy, data, and artificial intelligence)
• Advise on global legal issues as they relate to Code and Theory's general corporate business activities
• Help develop and implement internal cross-functional policies
• Provide oversight, strategy and direction to outside counsel

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

• Member of a State Bar in good standing
• Top academic credentials and references
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a practicing lawyer, preferably with experience in transactional law or in an in-house capacity at a digital media or creative agency
• Significant transactional experience negotiating and structuring intellectual property commercial agreements both domestically and internationally
• Must work effectively in a fast-paced environment, interacting regularly with business stakeholders
• Commitment to staying current with legal trends in technology and AI ensuring proactive and informed guidance
• Must be able to simultaneously accomplish multiple quantitatively and qualitatively challenging tasks

The target range of base compensation for this role is $110,000 - $140,000. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and location.
