The Associate Creative Director is responsible for developing best-in-class creative solutions that engage target audiences, support department and company goals and align with Lilly Masterbrand guidelines. They help drive creative strategy, design, user experience and overall direction of work-from conceptualization to implementation-across external and internal corporate channels. This person will foster an innovative and inclusive environment by offering and welcoming fresh ideas, perspectives and approaches to solving complex problems. To achieve optimized outcomes, they must collaborate across teams and functions to capture expertise and insights.

This position will be in Indianapolis, reporting to the Executive Director of Creative, Content and Channels, Global Communications.
Key Responsibilities
Creative Direction
- Produce highly creative and engaging visual content, with an emphasis on digital media and experiential design
- Conceptualize and complete creative ideas that elevate the user-experience for internal and external audiences
- Problem-solve with cross-functional teams and business partners to build comprehensive, strategic, and workable approaches to meeting project objectives
- Understand, apply, and adapt to industry, channel, and audience insights
- Bring forward and educate teams on best-practices, emerging trends, and technologies
- Lead projects through creative concepting, execution and delivery while following department and team processes
- Pitch creative concepts and rationale to team members, business partners and senior leaders
- Lead and contribute to cross-functional ideation sessions
- Deliver on multiple priorities while consistently producing high-quality work
- Serve as project lead and assume project management duties as needed across teams to ensure projects advance successfully
Creative Team Leadership
- Provide mentorship and counsel to creative team members while ensuring all work developed by the team meets quality standards
- Serve as lead point of contact for agency partners, ensuring alignment to creative, content and channel strategies
- Provide counsel about Lilly Masterbrand guidelines as it relates to specific audiences supported by the Corporate Affairs/Global Communications function
- Support management of a creative budget
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in graphic design, fine arts, visual communications, or related field
- 8 or more years of proven experience creating visual assets for a major brand(s)
- 2 or more years of experience managing an in-house or agency creative team
- Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite: Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop
Additional Preferred Skills:
- Expertise in digital display, video, paid and organic social, web, UI/UX and accessibility best practices
- Extensive knowledge of typography, color theory, current design, and technology trends
- Ability to meet rapid timelines and manage multiple priorities
- Excellent communication, relationship building and presentation skills
- Moderate knowledge of animation software and CMS
- Strong corporate identity and branding experience
- Project management expertise
- Ability to professionally engage with and persuade leaders
- Ability to think quickly and analytically to accommodate a dynamic work environment
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Works well under pressure, responds to feedback well and keeps a positive demeanor
