Local Projects is a leading experience design firm that connects people to stories through innovative design. We work with a wide range of clients ranging from museums to brands with the purpose of bringing their stories to life in physical exhibit and digital experiences.

Associate Creative Directors work closely with our established Creative Directors to guide teams through the creative process from brief to installation. They are expected to support a full understanding of their projects' needs from the client's goals to the, creative opportunities, to budgetary and implementation requirements.

While discipline experts within the project team execute the project's vision, ACDs will have a broad understanding of how each team member can best be directed to contribute to the project at the right moment, providing creative vision and mentorship, shaping processes, fostering creativity, pursuing innovation, and ensuring creative excellence from client engagement, through concept and execution.

With this hire, we are seeking someone with a deep passion for engaging with communities, exploring challenging narratives, and connecting visitors with socially driven causes.

Responsibilities

  • Work alongside our Creative Directors to develop and implement world-class experience designs across a variety of mediums and spaces, such as museums and public spaces.
  • Be an inspirational leader for the team, leading by example, driving creativity, and maintaining a positive team environment.
  • Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team to drive innovation and creativity throughout the development process.
  • Contribute to the development of project proposals, ensuring a strategic and innovative approach to meeting the needs of our clients.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure timely and successful delivery of projects, while ensuring a high level of quality.
  • Develop and maintain productive relationships with clients to understand their goals and effectively communicate Local Projects' vision and strategy.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends and emerging technologies to bring innovative ideas to the table
  • Bachelors degree or higher in Architecture, Technology, Interaction Design, Graphic Design, or a related field.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience designing exhibit/digital storytelling experiences
  • Eligible to work in the United States
  • Primary residence is in the NY/Tristate area (NY/NJ/CT)
  • Able to work on-site as needed (Hybrid)
  • Able to travel nationally and globally as needed
  • Agency and/or client services experience
  • Experience in leading cross-functional teams
  • Exceptional design skills, with a proven ability to produce innovative ideas
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Strong knowledge of emerging technologies and trends in the industry

Benefits

Salary: $120,000 - $145,000
