About the position:
As part of Palm Tree’s recent growth, we are adding staff to build our growing Data & BI practice. The Associate position has unlimited growth potential over time.

Primary Responsibilities & Duties:
- Analytical Proficiency
- Demonstrate proficiency in conducting thorough analysis of large datasets, employing advanced techniques to identify meaningful trends, patterns, and insights.
- Utilize expertise to extract valuable information that drives informed decision-making and strategic planning.
- Dashboard Development and Maintenance
- Take charge of developing and maintaining visually appealing and interactive Power BI dashboards and reports.
- Leverage creativity and technical skills to transform complex data into meaningful visualizations communicating key metrics and performance indicators to stakeholders.
- Client Engagement and Requirements Gathering
- Exhibit strong leadership and communication skills as you lead requirement-gathering sessions with clients.
- Effectively elicit and document their needs, translating them into actionable project objectives and deliverables.
- Your ability to navigate client relationships and manage expectations will be key in ensuring successful outcomes.
- SQL Query Development
- Proficiency in SQL to develop precise and efficient queries for dashboard creation.
- Employ an understanding of database structures and data manipulation techniques to retrieve and transform relevant data.
Internal & Growth Expectations:
- Proficiently convey development progress, challenges, and strategic insights to clients and internal stakeholders through clear and concise communication channels. Ensure effective transmission of information to foster collaboration and alignment between teams.
- Demonstrate exceptional attention to detail when delivering weekly updates to clients, meticulously capturing, and reporting on key project milestones, accomplishments, and any notable issues or concerns. Maintain a high standard of accuracy and thoroughness in all client communications.
- Possess hands-on experience with popular project management software such as Asana, Jira, Monday.com, or similar platforms. Leverage your familiarity with these tools to effectively organize and track project tasks, timelines, and resources. Utilize their functionalities to enhance collaboration, streamline workflows, and facilitate seamless project execution.
- Formulate and present strategic initiatives to clients throughout the course of the engagement, demonstrating ability to think critically and develop innovative solutions. Collaborate closely with clients to understand their goals, challenges, and opportunities, and proactively propose strategies that align with their business objectives.
- Display self-sufficiency and autonomy in a remote work environment, effectively managing your tasks and responsibilities without constant supervision. Keep internal leads updated on progress, milestones, and outcomes to ensure transparent communication and alignment. Utilize appropriate communication tools and platforms to maintain regular and proactive engagement with the team.

Qualifications & Requirements:
This position requires at least 4-6 years of experience in a blended finance/IT environment. Top candidates will have expertise in Excel, SQL, Python, Power BI, Tableau, Redshift, Azure, etc.

Compensation:
The Associate position offers a base salary of $125k with a top-of-industry performance-based bonus. In addition, Palm Tree offers medical, dental, and vision premium coverage, a competitive 401k program, an unlimited paid time off (PTO) policy (no formalized limits; take as needed), a robust maternity/paternity leave program, and many other fringe benefits.
*Palm Tree requires 5% - 35% travel with the ability to work remotely and with offices in the L.A., Chicago, Detroit, and Dallas markets*
