Associate Data Engineer, Business Insights
Omnicell has a wonderful entry level position for an Associate Data Engineer in the Business Insights Department. You will design and develop data structures necessary to support our businesses and objectives for decision support. The Associate will design and build ETL (Extract, Transform and Load) pipelines and systems to ensure data availability and integrity for the organization. You will utilize computer science skills to aggregate, analyze and manipulate database objects as needed. The Associate will serve as an expert on data and database design and provide support and guidance.

Responsibilities:
- Maintains and administer of database architecture that support business objectives
- Designs and maintains dimensional data structures to support Business Operations and various internal customers.
- Maintains and supports ETL pipelines and systems to ensure data availability and integrity.
- Consults and advises on database design principles.
- Provides support and assistance with ad-hoc queries and reporting requests as needed.
- Extracts and compiles data using SQL queries with filtering, grouping, and aggregate functions as needed.
- Supports and maintains application code or scripting to extract data from various Application Programming Interfaces (API).
- Coordinates with other departments regarding consistency and accuracy of data.
- Performs general database administrative tasks such as user management, data backup and recovery.
- Implements performance enhancements through indexing and query tuning.
- Creates and maintains high quality database documentation following established guidelines.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Knowledge with Microsoft data technologies including SQL Server and Excel
- Knowledge with creating relational database objects such as views, stored procedures, and functions
- Knowledge with analyzing and reporting data to identify issues, trends, or exceptions to drive improvement of results and find solutions
- Knowledge in diagnosing, isolating, and resolving complex issues and recommending and implementing strategies to resolve problems
- Knowledge of programming languages such as Python and R
- Knowledge of data extraction, data mining, data acquisition, and data profiling
- Knowledge of in performing data analysis and data management activities
- Ability to translate reporting requirements into specifications involving complex business processes
- Familiarity of statistical and data science concepts
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems/Information Technology, or Statistics/Analytics
- 0-3 years' experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience and/or knowledge of advanced statistical concepts and data mining techniques such as: logistic and linear regression, segmentation techniques, optimization, time-series forecasting
- Experience working with programming languages such as Python, R and PowerShell
- Knowledge with big data and cloud solutions such as Snowflake, NoSQL, Kafka, Spark
- Advanced level skill in analytic tools such as, Tableau, JMP, MiniTab, SAS or other statistical software
- Experience with system administration (Salesforce, SAP C4C, SAP ECC, SAP ERP, SharePoint, and other collaboration tools)
- Experience developing and delivering presentations to various audience levels within an organization
- Experience in supporting Customer Service functions
Work Conditions:
- Remote
- Standard office environment
- Occasional travel required for team meetings
