You Have:

  • Bachelor's degree in IT or Computer Science or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in SQL database administration, including experience with both traditional on-premises SQL databases and cloud-based databases in Microsoft Azure.
  • Basic expertise in SQL Server, including knowledge of database design, performance tuning, security, backup and recovery, and failover.
  • Familiarity with ELT and data migration tools, such as Azure Data Factory and SSIS.
  • Knowledge of cloud-based database services and technologies, such as Azure SQL Database, Azure Cosmos DB, and Azure Data Lake Storage.
  • Familiarity with database monitoring and alerting tools, such as SQL Server Management Studio and Azure Monitor.
  • Good communication and documentation skills.

The Day to Day:

  • Assist in designing, implementing, and maintaining all databases, including traditional on-premises SQL databases and cloud-based databases in Microsoft Azure.
  • Support the security and high availability of all databases by implementing appropriate measures, such as access controls, encryption, backup, disaster recovery, and failover.
  • Monitor database performance and assist in proactively optimizing it for maximum efficiency, reliability, and scalability.
  • Troubleshoot database issues and provide timely resolution to minimize downtime and data loss.
  • Assist in writing stored procedures, functions, and triggers to support application development and data processing needs.
  • Assist in collaborating with IT stakeholders to identify and implement database-related enhancements and upgrades to support business objectives.
  • Support disaster recovery planning and testing to ensure high availability of all databases in the event of a failure.
  • Stay current with emerging trends and technologies in database management and cloud computing to ensure GreenPath's databases remain competitive and innovative.
