Associate, Database Engineering

Morgan Stanley Services Group, Inc. seeks an Associate, Database Engineering in Alpharetta, Georgia

Build logical and physical data models. Perform software system capacity planning. Build and support production, test, mock, and development technical environments. Support software development activities, including installation, upgradation, migrations, cloning, setting configuration standards, and deployment technical changes. Plan and implement high availability and disaster recovery environments. Identify and implement maintenance solutions. Participate in application development life cycle. Monitor and maintain backup storage for database recoverability. Perform troubleshooting and performance tuning. Design and redesign databases and database implementation measures. Review user management and system security. Collaborate responding to user incidents, change requests, service requests, and technical problems. Assist software developers with complex query tuning. Maintain on-premises and cloud-based data warehouse platforms.

Requirements:

Master of Science degree in Applied Computer Science, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field of study and two (2) years of experience in the position offered or two (2) years as a Database Engineer, Technical Consultant, Software Developer, or a related technical occupation. Requires two (2) years of experience with: DB2; Oracle; Hadoop; Snowflake; Amazon Web Services (AWS) platform and tools, including Lake Formation, S3, Redshift, Relational Database Service (RDS), Athena, Glue, Lambda, Secret Manager, Virtual Private Cloud (VPC), Quicksight, and Sagemaker; Terraform; Online analytical processing (OLAP) databases; file system, volume management, and storage concepts; database security; Jenkins CI/CID; Git; Bitbucket; Netbackup; Tivoli Storage Manager (TSM); Cyberark; and Unix.
