Job Description
Taylor is looking for an experienced Associate Director, Agency Marketing to join our growing team!
Primary Responsibilities
Agency Marketing & Business Development Â
MarketingÂ
- Serves as a strategic brand manager for Taylor, working to raise the agency profile, build brand reputation, and drive meaningful exposure within the marketing communications industry and beyond – targeting existing and prospective clients, industry stakeholders, and existing and prospective employees
- Leads the development of marketing strategies and content and outreach plans across a variety of media, including but not limited to trade publications, social media, .com properties, award shows, speaking engagements for Taylor executives, industry events, and any other outlets where our work, people, culture, and success stories can be celebrated
- Oversees the development and pitching of content for paid and earned opportunities with trade publications, LinkedIn, and other industry outlets
- Leads regular meetings with senior leadership to ideate, plan, and review progress against agreed upon marketing objectives
- Partners closely with Discipline Leads and HR to ensure that all marketing content is balanced appropriately to our target audiences (including prospective clients, prospective employees, and other marketers) and our people and culture initiatives
- Owns the development and execution of the Agency's social content calendar and planned social content (Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn), tapping into support staff when neededÂ
- Monitors Taylor's .com properties and, in conjunction with website partners, recommends and implements strategic updates to content, design, reach, etc.
- Provides thorough and insightful reporting on social media metrics and website traffic reports (using Google Analytics), aligning recommendations to agency goals
- Leads the development and project-management of key agency thought leadership content such as case study videos, panel discussions, and paid executions, proactively bringing in and partnering with others from ideation to execution to ensure diversity of thought, integration, and collaboration across Taylor disciplines
- Includes script and content development, curating assets, coordination of content shoots, etc.
- May oversee and develop junior colleagues or fellows on the development and publication of marketing content including digital/social (website/blog, Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Glassdoor, etc.), e-newsletters, press-releases, and award show submissions, ensuring all content ladders up to strategic plans and meets agency quality and brand standards
- Maintains a database of Award shows and categories and reviews upcoming award opportunities, and partners with business leads to determine whether any Taylor work will be submitted
- Oversees coordination of all award submissions, including liaising with Account, Strategy, and Creative teams to develop submission response, package submission content, and oversight of junior support efforts
Business Development / ProspectingÂ
- Maintains clear understanding of prospect targeting goals and criteria in alignment with Taylor’s business model, structure, offerings, and culture
- Proactively participates, along with Taylor new biz team, in research, analysis and refinement of prospect lists across industry, company and individual levels, targeting strategies, and action plans
- Conducts ongoing proactive and reactive research and analysis of client prospects at the industry, company, and individual levels
- In partnership with senior leadership, oversees the development and maintenance of Taylor credentials (documents, presentations, case studies, etc.) showcasing our work, offerings, business model, people, culture, and other key selling points
- Maintains and grows Taylor's client, prospect, and industry stakeholder marketing database
PitchingÂ
- When called to do so, actively participates in introductory meetings with prospects, RFPs, and pitch responses, contributing across all phases from early exploration to final delivery or pitch, to post-mortem review, and analysis as requested
Communication & StorytellingÂ
- Demonstrates effective leadership presence through thoughtful, polished, persuasive communication across all mediums
- Listens well, building and maintaining relationships through respect, responsiveness, and open dialogue
- Uses strong story-telling skills and understanding of the agency's business model, structure, offerings, and culture to craft compelling strategies and materials across all areas of responsibility
- Effectively leads internal and external communications, meetings, formal presentations, and negotiations, including setting appropriate expectations and responding to questions or concerns
People ManagementÂ
- May serve as a primary or secondary manager to one or more junior colleagues, delegating well and providing ongoing training, guidance, feedback, coaching, and career development
- Gives appropriate recognition and actively works to motivate and inspire others
- Models diversity of thought, and recognizes others who do the same
- Escalates thorough performance feedback for junior team members up to senior management, championing strong performance and proactively addressing low performance
Required Skills and Experience
- 7-10 years of relevant experience, including 3-5 years of agency experience
- Bachelor's degree in a related field and/or equivalent education and work experience
- Best in class brand marketer with a proven record of pulling strategic efforts through to business growth utilizing media channels such as digital, PR, and social media
- Digital native with strong familiarity and experience with all social platforms
- Experience developing creative communication strategies, plus a curiosity to build out new programs that support our brand and purpose
- Strong knowledge of marketing principles and activating market research insights
- Strong leadership skills, strategic thinking, and analytical expertise
- Strong team, project and time-management, planning, presentation, and content-development skills
- Must possess strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Must be creative, with strong written and verbal communication skills
- Must be solutions oriented
Compensation
$100,000/yr - $110,000/yr, New York (10% cost-of-living reduction for lower markets)
