Associate Director, A&R Operations
Job Description
We are looking for an Associate Director, A&R Operations who will develop and strategize recording plans, manage recording budgets, and communicate project updates with artist management and internal departments to ensure the successful and timely delivery of album releases.
What you'll do:- Liaison between A&R, artist/management and all involved in recording process
- Manages the mixing and mastering process
- Coordinate sessions at recording studios
- Coordinates recording session related travel
- Negotiates competitive rates with studios, engineers, mixing, mastering
- Works with A&R Admin and Business Affairs on sample and side artist clearing
- Keeps possession and archives music
- Builds strong relationships with artist/management to ensure trust with music
- Reviews demos submitted
- Provides music to entire staff (promotions, marketing, licensing)
- Works with A&R Admin to make sure all invoices are paid in a timely manner
- Prepares music for company presentations
- Organizes Artist showcase
- Coordinates travel and scheduling
- Represents the A&R staff in weekly meetings
- Β At least 3 years of prior A&R, Studio, or A&R Administration experience desired
β’ Knowledge of Microsoft Office and the ability to pick-up computer systems/programs quickly
β’ Solid understanding of accounting, budgets, and other financial concepts. Facility w Excel spreadsheets required
β’ Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines
β’ Strong people and relationship building skills
β’ Outstanding project management skills
β’ Solid understanding of the recording process
β’ Awareness about how to keep costs down and broker deals for cheaper rates
β’ Prior experience working closely with artists and senior-level executives Β
