Associate Director, Campaigns

The Associate Director of Campaigns will help launch and manage time-bound and cycle based campaigns at Civic Nation (CN). Our campaigns empower trusted messengers with the resources needed to do effective outreach, create mass mobilization moments for partners, and leverage paid and earned media to raise awareness for the issues we engage on. 

This position will primarily work on campaigns to raise awareness and increase enrollment in new federal programs like the Affordable Connectivity Program, borrower relief programs, clean energy tax credits, and more over the next 18 months.

Reporting to the Director of Campaigns, the Associate Director of Campaigns will be primarily responsible for the day-to-day project management and coordination of one or more of these campaigns and assisting the Director in the implementation of all of our campaigns as needed.

This is a remote, short-term position that will end in December 2024, with the possibility to extend or move into a permanent position at that time.

The Campaigns and Partnerships team within the Civic Nation Hub supports the overall CN mission and the work of Civic Nation’s initiatives. This team manages all short-term, time-bound campaigns; and supports the organizing, training, and partnerships strategy across the organization.

YOUR IMPACT

• Support the Director of Campaigns in coordinating across the Civic Nation Hub and Initiatives on the strategic planning and execution of CN campaigns. Will help lead at least one campaign from start to finish. 
• Help lead day-to-day management of a coalition of campaign partners, including building regular coalition convening agendas, engaging with current and prospective partner organizations, and creating opportunities for partners to share best practices and resources to develop a national community of practice.
• Create and oversee mass mobilization moments, such as Weeks of Action, to activate coalition partners around key campaign moments goals.
• Assist with campaign communications and marketing, including website content and paid and earned media support, as needed.
• Provide support for internal reporting, including partner data management and tracking of program activities and key metrics.

YOUR EXPERIENCE

• 5+ years of experience managing campaigns and major projects, preferably with non-profit organizations. 
• Experience engaging with high-level leaders, government officials, community-based organizations, and other key stakeholders in the civic engagement space.
• Demonstrated experience on an electoral, issue, or civic engagement campaign focused on mobilizing stakeholders to accomplish a shared goal.
• Experience working with executive-level and/or senior organizational leaders.
• Experience creating and managing budgets, complex strategies, and projects.
• A proven track record of navigating complex issues, leading diverse teams, managing multiple stakeholders, effective decision-making, and producing results.
• Experience engaging diverse organizations, in size, structure, missions, tactics, and reach.

SALARY & BENEFITS

The Washington, DC-based salary range for this position is $77,000 - $95,000 (will be adjusted for cost of labor for the incumbent's work location) annually, commensurate with experience. MANDATORY COVID-19 VACCINATION POLICY

Individuals are considered fully vaccinated two weeks after they get their second dose of a messenger RNA (mRNA) vaccine, such as Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna, or two weeks after a single dose of the Janssen/Johnson & Johnson vaccine.

New employees must be fully vaccinated before their start date unless an exemption due to a medical condition or a sincerely held religious belief or practice is granted.
