The LVA Channel Strategy Associate Director will be responsible identifying and understanding the environment and capabilities in various traditional trade and emerging specialty channels, including distribution and pharmacy, as well as the evolving capabilities of the organizations, entities, and vendor partners actively participating in those channels. This job requires the active management of the commercial organization's channel strategy design and ongoing development, comprised of all channel aspects including product distribution and dispensing. This position will ensure the channel strategy is coordinated with the overall Price, Reimbursement, and Access strategy for each brand. This position will design, measure and improve the commercialization and channel strategies of both inline and pipeline products, through strong partnership with cross functional teammates and channel intermediaries. As a member of the LVA Channel Management team, it is critical that this position effectively collaborates cross-functionally with LVA and product brand teams to ensure alignment between the channel strategy and brand team deliverables that advance the execution of commercial launch and growth plans.

Responsibilities:
- Develop and demonstrate deep expertise across all key pharmacy channels: wholesaler, retail pharmacy, specialty distribution, specialty pharmacy, data, and patient service providers
- Develop and own integrated channel strategies to strengthen and support brand strategies and integrate brand PRA Strategy
- Partner closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure distribution, pharmacy dispensing and reporting functions are aligned to strategic insight
- Develop and improve upon existing performance-based analytics of critical success metrics and operational activities of pharmacies / distribution functions (performance dashboards)
- Collaborate with LVA, sales and marketing, advanced analytics, distribution, supply chain, launch excellence, PACE and finance to assess and monitor strategies through evaluating key performance indicators related to overall channel strategy
- Partner with Channel Accounts to engage key channel partners and other stakeholders to gain insight, learn about potential opportunities, understand trends and best practices to help shape Lilly channel strategies
- Forecast the economic impact associated with various channel dispensing and distribution strategies
- Gather and share intelligence about the healthcare and channel environment and turn it into actionable insights that shape strategies
Reporting Relationship
This position reports to the Senior Director of Channel Management.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- 3+ years of experience in managed care or pharmaceutical sales/marketing
- Understanding of the pharmacy channel customers (i.e. distributors, pharmacies, buy and bill providers, IDNs, patient support providers, commercial payers, government payers)
Additional Skills/Preferences
- Clinical education or experience (e.g., nurse or pharmacist)
- Pricing, reimbursement, and access experience
- MBA and/or RPh preferred
- Knowledgeable about both the manufacturer and SP perspectives of Specialty Distribution and Specialty Pharmacy.
- Strong customer orientation
- Strong collaboration skills and the ability to drive to consensus
- Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively present ideas and influence others that achieve desired results
- Flexible, innovative, diplomatic and able to effectively deal with ambiguity
- Ability to lead across boundaries and without direct authority
- Demonstrated ability to influence business decisions
- Demonstrated competencies in business problem definition, data analysis and interpretation
- Strong analytic skills
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required
- Ability to travel as business needs require
