Associate Director, Digital Marketing - Job IS 1113
Job Description
The Associate Director requires a high level of collaboration, integration and partnership with internal stakeholders including IT, Market Research, Commercial Analytics, Corporate Communications, Medical Affairs, Legal and Regulatory, as well as external partners and vendors including media and creative agencies.
The Associate Director will possess strong Digital Marketing experience and the ability to operate independently, with rare disease experience as a plus. The Associate/Director will lead the development, execution and management of non-personal marketing programs, including digital innovation, to drive customer (HCP and DTP) awareness and engagement, and preference share.
We're looking for an individual with just the right mix of creativity and analytical abilities to bring both the "art and science" to each digital/non-personal program (NPP) with an inquisitive mindset and strong strategic thinking.
- Design and implement the digital/NPP strategy, in alignment with overall brand strategy, for both unbranded and branded campaigns. Analyzes primary and secondary data to optimize plan.
- Keep Ascendis digital marketing initiatives on the cutting edge of social media and digital communication technological advances.
- Define KPIs and reporting dashboard to assess and optimize media performance.
- Conduct qualitative and quantitative analysis of initiatives to determine optimal resource allocation and continuous program improvement.
- Lead the content development, generation and management of digital tactics and programs including but not limited to websites, SEO, CRM, paid, earned, and social media. Creates recommendations for technology infrastructure and SOPs needed to successfully execute programs.
- Develop and support processes to optimize non-personal channel mix.
- Partner with colleagues to develop innovative digital solutions for improving the customer experience. Understand all aspects of the treatment journey to identify key opportunities for digital or non-personal engagement with customers.
- Collaborate with PRC/MLR, consistent with SOPs, to execute plans.
- Own and manage digital/NPP marketing budget.
Requirements
- BA/BS degree required; advanced degree (MBA, MS) preferred
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in the pharma/biotech/med device industry, life science agency or other relevant digital marketing experience
- 8 years of digital marketing experience; experience in pharma/biotech/med device, agency or other relevant digital promotion experience
- Email and Inbound Marketing: Ability to analyze incoming data, manage lead generation and email marketing campaigns
- Content Marketing: Understanding of patient and caregivers needs to direct development of content and resources needed to build community relationships
- Solid understanding of copy, design and visual storytelling to ensure appropriate content development for patients and caregivers
- Social Media Marketing: Experience with social media campaigns and strategies, including budget planning, content ideation, and implementation schedules
- Online Media Advertising: Experience with SEO, SEM, display ad and paid social campaigns
- Metric Creation & Data Analysis: Ability to generate optimal metrics and dashboards required to regularly analyze and optimize online campaign data and manage ongoing online campaigns and digital tactics
- Qual/Quant Research Analysis: Ability to analyze qualitative research for insights as well as quantifiable metrics to assess the value of marketing and advertising investment. Versed in AB testing for website/application development
- Digital Marketing Platforms: Understanding of Content Management Systems (e.g., WordPress) and Marketing Automation platforms (e.g., Hubspot, Salesforce)
- Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS or Photoshop preferred
- Experience with Social Listening for qualitative and quantitative insights preferred
- 20% travel required

- Salary range: $170-190K/year
