This role is an exciting opportunity for an exceptional leader who has passion for developing markets for new innovative medical technologies. This position is part of Medication Delivery Solutions (MDS), BD's largest Business Unit with $3.8B in annual revenue. MDS is comprised of the world leading products needed to safely prepare and administer medication, such as: intravenous catheters, IV sets, connectors, flush syringes, Chloraprep infection prevention products, hazardous drug safety containment items, and hypodermic syringes. MDS is focused on reducing complications, improving patient safety/outcomes, and lowering total cost of care around the world.

About the role:

This position will focus on customer engagement, commercial planning and launch excellence processes and assets for digital solutions to address vascular access management. As Associate Director for Downstream Marketing and Market Development, you will be responsible for preparing the market to adopt these new to world smart connected care solutions.

  • Lead the preparation and execution of the market development
  • Recruit hospital testing partners and early adopters, establish user groups, and support evidence generation tactics.
  • Collaborate with and coordinate the activities of customer-facing teams to ensure alignment & effective execution of market development initiatives.
  • Follow a data-driven, metrics-based approach to measure effectiveness of awareness, trial, and adoption marketing tactics to drive plan refinement.
  • Shape product training approaches and curriculum in collaboration with upstream marketing, region and global customer support.
  • Collaborate with other business segments to coordinate strategies and tactics for shared market segments to ensure a superior customer experience and leverage cross selling opportunities.
  • Develop close, productive relationships with the regions, field sales organizations, relevant societies, key opinion leaders, and other hospital system leaders to drive early market adoption
  • Develop commercial model for smart connected device in conjunction with upstream marketing to sell and drive adoption of these new innovations leveraging key internal and external partnerships.
  • Participate in the development of the clinical evidence strategy through collaboration with Medical Affairs colleagues. Support the implementation of clinical studies, registries, and educational activities.
  • Participate in annual marketing and strategic planning activities

Education and experience required:

The successful candidate will have a record of market development or innovative product launch experience made possible through effective collaboration with colleagues, key opinion leaders, medical advisors, ecosystem partners and customers.

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 8+ years of successful experience in sales, marketing, or customer facing role in the MedTech industry
  • Proven track record of successfully commercializing transformative or novel medical devices and/or hospital software
  • History in vascular access space or infusion space or other bedside devices in acute care hospital space - preferred.
  • Strong culture addition with organizational values including customer centricity, growth mindset, speak-up, inclusive and agility in decision making
  • Ability and resiliency to work in start-up like environment, pushing through ambiguity to identify creative solutions, and stay agile with their approach and decision making
  • Strong communication and influencing skills to work with cross functional teams

Remote: Yes

Travel: Flexibility to travel domestically for customer engagement, trade shows and observing cases with sales teams at least 25-30% of the time, on rare occasions including weekends.
