Data & Analytics CoE is a diverse team of technology enthusiast enabling our global business. JCI has embarked on a Data strategy that focuses on establishing strong technology CoE, enterprise data management & cloud-based business solutions.

Associate director role is an integral part of Data Analytics team. This role will be based out of Ireland, Cork, reporting into Director of Data Analytics. They will be responsible for defining the delivery for applications utilizing Snowflake, Azure and related data tools. As an Associate director you are responsible for managing/ maintaining/ designing the IT project & enhancement portfolio for the Data Analytics department. This role requires strong relationships with business leadership and key staff members to clearly understand the overall business objectives and functional process requirements. This role is responsible for translating the business objectives into an actionable IT roadmap. This position must be able to work across organizational boundaries to manage to the successful execution of a portfolio of Enterprise Solutions IT initiatives, ensuring on schedule, on-quality and on-budget project performance. This role will provide oversight and direction to the IT application delivery staff aligned to each project. You will be liaising with other IT departments, gather cost/ time estimates and propose these to the business customers giving them a full overview on cost, process and timings.

How you will do it

  • Lead and manage technical and solution delivery resources for a project and/ or specific workstream.
  • Ensure functional and technical governance is in place
  • Coordinate with Business Partners/ Business Analysts, Project Managers, Technical Architects and CoE teams for the successful delivery
  • Maintain 'state of the art' technical and functional expertise in the assigned areas of responsibility.
  • Work with architecture and operations departments to ensure that applications follow company standards at a high level of availability.
  • Provides program level leadership to delivery leaders and project Managers
  • Responsible for end-to-end delivery of solution portfolio from multiple BUs and Functions.
  • Manages Data Strategy planning and execution with multiple functions and business units leaders
  • Manage the strategy and execution of data factory engagement with multiple SI partners.
  • Contribute to IT Strategy
  • Act as a principal operating officer for the CoE Leader.
  • Manages IT for IT portfolio planning and execution for the Data Analytics CoE.
  • Support the analysis of designs, developing, testing and implementing changes to the applications in support of Business Unit initiatives and change requests
  • Lead the results of the testing cycle of system design changes prior to migrating to Production applications
  • Cooperate with Release Manager to resolve readiness and deployment schedule of the applications modifications or enhancements
  • Supports the application migration strategy for moving changes between environments
  • Work with the external application vendors on issue resolution, enhancements and improvements
  • Act as liaison between Corp IT and the business teams
  • Business Partnerships
    • Owns business/functional relationship on behalf of the CoE
    • Provides consultation on how to best leverage analytics technology as an enabler to drive value
    • Responsible for structuring portfolio (projects / backlog / other) so that it meets balance of CoE capacity / capabilities aligned to business need and timing
    • Provides Solution Proposals that includes the approach, cost, high level plan and architecture
  • Refine the operating model, vendor strategy & drive operational excellence
  • Partner with operations, ePMO, Delivery organisation & IT business partners to ensure tight governance, high velocity & cost efficient delivery of Sales Solutions.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of concepts, best practices & functions to implement Data Analytical/Warehousing and Advanced analytics Solutions.
  • Connect with management to limit any uncontrolled expansion of work
  • Drive values & behaviours to ensure compliance, integrity & financial commitment
  • Work with remote-working teams based globally

What we look for

  • BSc/MSc in Software Engineering/Computer Science or similar
  • 15+ yrs hands-on experience using various development methodologies to deliver robust Analytical and or Warehouse Solutions on the Microsoft Azure, Snowflake platform.
  • Validated expertise of the following: Big Data Analytics, Cloud Data platforms
  • Proven record in multiple successful deliveries of analytics projects in all sizes.
  • Success in leading & mentoring diverse teams.
  • Experience working on projects with Integrations or data warehouse.
  • Prior experience of setting up a DevOps team, process & framework
  • Highly organized with strong prioritization and documentation skills
  • Outstanding communication, written and interpersonal skills
  • Strong leadership, influencing & collaboration skills
  • Demonstrated experience leading, coaching & mentoring individuals and teams
