Scope:

Manage activities related to financial operations of the solid dosage manufacturing site by focusing on the fundamental objectives, people development and continuous improvement. The Associate Director-Finance has overall responsibility for the financial reporting of the plant as a site lead team member as required, including budgeting, forecasting, production planning, business partnering, month-end close review, fiduciary and compliance with processes and policies. This position serves as the primary contact for the plant concerning all financial matters. Based on business needs, expectation for this role may evolve over time, including participation in the site lead team.

Responsibilities:

Manages the planning and financial activities for the site.

  • Lead business planning processes and hold the site accountable to achieve commitments, influence the site to maximize value through cost reduction and productivity agendas.
  • Play an integral role in framing a clear strategic plan and ensure strong financial controls.
  • Understand and proactively assess risks in the areas of responsibility and ensure appropriate controls are in place.
  • Work cross-functionally with procurement, supply chain and other functions to achieve financial goals and objectives.
  • Lead stakeholders through complex and analytical exercises including commercialization costing.
  • Lead local implementation of new financial systems and processes.

Lead the site's Finance organization.

  • Develop objectives ensuring alignment with site objectives and priorities and in accordance with corporate objectives and vision.
  • Ensure adequate and capable resources to accomplish objectives.
  • Promote positive team dynamics and cross-functional collaboration.

Participate in the PR01 Site Lead Team, as required.

  • Have regular touchpoints with lead team members to integrate finance agenda in broader site objectives.
  • Engage with corporate leadership across M&Q and Finance organization to represent the site in financial topics.

Comply with functional objectives and controls.

  • Ensure financial exercises are performed and delivered on time with highest priority assigned to compliance-related activities and controls.
  • Support the team and identify opportunities to accomplish established financial goals.
  • Develop and track PR01 metrics to manage risk and maintain operational control.
  • Facilitate implementation of the Business Plan objectives in terms of projects and activities and ensure accomplishment in the established timeframe.
  • Review and sign-off on completed financial controls including those related to Sarbanes Oxley

Participate in the Lilly del Caribe Finance Lead Team.

  • Fulfill assigned tasks and work to improve the overall functional excellence of operations in Puerto Rico.
  • Participate in functional priorities regarding people development, rotations, training and recruiting to maximize overall effectiveness of the functions.

Manage and develop direct reports, as required.

  • Comply with the performance management process and expectations.
  • Prepare talent assessment and employee development plans for direct reports.

Management

  • Promote a culture of safety and wellness.
  • Provide technical oversight and stewardship for their discipline.
  • Ensure the activities conducted follow Generally Accepted and Accounting Principles (GAAP) and are consistent with company policies and procedures.

Basic Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance as a minimum. Master's in business administration, preferred.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA), preferred
  • 7+ years of experience in related field
  • Supervisory experience, preferred
