Job Description Summary
This role will lead the global marketing function for the needles and wingset business within Specimen Acquisition, a $850M+ Global Platform. The primary emphasis of the job function is to develop & execute the global strategy for the Platforms largest product portfolios (wingsets and needles) while supporting the other global marketing manager for the other product portfolios (devices, and ABG).
The incumbent will be accountable for providing critical input into new product development, innovation strategy, portfolio management, including portfolio strategy, developing, and executing marketing plans, P&L management and developing marketing competencies within the worldwide and regional teams (across all product portfolios).
The role reports to the Specimen Acquisition Platform Leader. The role establishes and maintains a strong competitive position through the identification of market opportunities, geographic portfolio expansion, creation of new claims, building evidence generation plan, and development/execution of portfolio optimization strategies.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Together with the Platform Leader, sets direction for short- and medium-term strategy development (incl. ASR). Accountable for executing marketing activities to ensure the achievement of expectations related to short- and medium-term strategy development.
- Develops and presents the Annual Global Marketing Plan and aligns with regional product marketing plans to ensure the achievement of financial/budget expectations and product line strategies.
- Contributes significantly to the development of innovation roadmap, encompassing new products, line extensions and new product claims. Establishes global launch plans for both new products and line extensions.
- Supports PDT, PLM, quality and compliance programs for the wingset and needles product portfolio.
- Establishes performance standards for marketing team members by coaching, mentoring and providing ongoing direction, training and development to other team members.
- As a functional leader and member of cross-functional teams is accountable for the achievement of key business goals (KDGs and KPIs) and financial goals for the wingset and needles portfolios in particular:
- Responsible for monthly demand forecasts and quarterly financial forecasts.
- Responsible for global pricing strategy to achieve market share objectives within relevant profitability bounds (margin expansion goals).
- Ensures effective handling of all global quality & product supply issues.
- Supports long-term portfolio strategy, identifies growth opportunities and potential concepts.
- Establishes, implements, and maintains "best practices" in brand marketing and new product development.
- Remains in compliance with all local, state, federal and BD safety regulations/policies/procedures.
About you: To be successful in this role, you require:
- Track record of achievement in delivering large and/or multiple projects and influencing business outcomes.
- Strategic thinker with demonstrated ability to develop and implement marketing and product strategies, convert these into tactical marketing plans, and deliver results.
- Knowledge of clinical and/or laboratory market environment preferred.
- Sound decision making capabilities and the ability to make decisions, even in absence of consensus when necessary.
- Creative out-of-the-box thinker who is intellectually curious, stays current on new trends, and takes calculated risks with novel ideas.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills for a wide variety of audiences.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, and ability to develop strong relationships with not only internal stakeholders, but also externally with key opinion leaders, customers, advisory boards, functional partners and potential or existing business partners.
- Strong leadership skills with an ability to set a vision, lead change and to motivate others even with having no direct supervisory responsibility. Speaks up when important information or questions must be raised and acts when issues must be addressed.
- Strong leadership presence with ability to utilize organizational channels, experience and influencing skills to effectively negotiate and persuade others without authority.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to meet tight deadlines in an environment of competing priorities. Ability to routinely work on multiple tasks with multiple people while effectively prioritizing.
- Flexibility to travel globally to regions and customer sites up to 25% of the time.
- Demonstrated ability to use analytics and market facts to develop business strategies and deliver results.
- Strong financial and analytical background.
Education and Experience:
- Minimum bachelor's degree in a life science, business or marketing.
- MBA strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 8 years of strategic marketing and business management experience, ideally with 3 years from the medical device/diagnostics industry.
- Upstream, long-term strategy development as well as downstream daily P&L management required.
- Associates must have strong knowledge in the following areas: Brand Strategy, Global Product Management , Product & Portfolio Management, Business & Financial Acumen, Commercial Excellence, Marketing Communications, Marketing Planning & Execution.
