Job Description

The Global Security Associate Director (GSAD) position, will report directly to the Vice President of Real Estate. This is a full-time position, filled by an experienced security professional. This role will support local affiliates in all locations across the globe within clinical development, along with support to Investigations, Physical Security, Executive Protection and Human Resources.

In alignment with Global Security, the GSAD develops security strategies throughout the all regions, implements global security policies and security programs to mitigate risks, responds to incidents, limit exposure to liability and creates secure working conditions for all employees and contractors, protecting sites, assets and products. The GSAD contributes to the continuity and growth of the business by providing suitable security services.

Responsibilities include:

  • Develop and deploy standardized strategies, policies, procedures, best practices and security programs to the operating companies and business units with guidance from Global Security.
  • Identify significant security risks and prioritize them based on the probability of occurrence. With that, the GSAD designs and recommends strategies and security programs to mitigate potential risks by implementing cost-based efficient security measures.
  • Develop and implement regional policies and programs in response to financial losses, crimes against persons, sabotage, threats, emergency situations, illegal acts, and the protection of property.
  • Identify "Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats" within all regions, that allow the GSAD to develop and to implement security programs that contribute to risk mitigation.
  • The GSAD will oversee the development of security-related activities that will positively impact the protection of employees, visitors, facilities, assets and products.
  • Establish liaison with business leadership, specifically: Legal, HR, IT, Quality, Facilities, and other risk functions in all regions.
  • Prepare annual/semi-annual security threat/risk briefings for the regional business and risk function leadership.
  • Conduct investigations in support of Human Resources.
  • Establish liaison with local law enforcement agencies and external security committees/partnerships within all regions. Development of general strategy & project concepts/objectives

  • Alarm/Intrusion Detection, Duress Alarms
  • Coordinating the Security Council
  • Security Vendor selection & oversight, Establish MSA, SLA
  • Conduct security reviews & assessments, and review/critique those conducted by other team members
  • Liaison with government agencies, law enforcement and pharma security departments
  • Workplace Violence training and policy
  • Travel Security, Event Security
  • Information Security (stakeholder) - Collaborate with IT
  • Crisis Management, Mass Notification
  • Internal Investigations
  • Conducting & supervising investigations in coordination with Legal
  • Work with Corporate Development to provide security reviews of all pending acquisitions

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent education) is required. A Criminology, Criminal Justice, Police Sciences, Security Management, Forensic Sciences/or related field is preferred.
  • Corporate Security, Military or Law Enforcement background is preferred.
  • Graduate Program: Security Management/ MBA and Other Programs: ASIS Credentials such as CPP and/or PSP are preferred.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in a senior corporate security position to include proven experience in conducting investigations and risk management is required.

  • Fully informed of security-related regulations across all regions.
  • Ability to analyze raw information and able to remain composed in highly pressurized situations.
  • Able to adapt to different corporate and social cultures, remain intellectually curious and interested in security technology.
  • Comfortable when speaking in public and able to provide presentations and briefings to a diverse range of audiences, to include training.

Other:

  • Must be able to travel on a short notice.
  • Up to 30% travel. Domestic and occasional international travel.
