Overview:

This role is part of the Global Market Research Team that provides centralized resources and capabilities to market researchers around the globe as well as research support to non-brand facing parts of the business. It is critical that we advance our capabilities and empower Lilly to discover, distill and activate quality insights so we can understand our customers better than anyone else in our industry.

Responsibilities:

This role will define and evolve the processes and capabilities for a world-class insights and foresight organization. The incumbent will support ongoing innovation work related to automation, machine learning, and natural language processing. The Associate Director will partner with the project management team, compliance, ethics and legal to identify and address gaps or barriers in current processes and tools to enable embedding and scaling of innovation of our insights techniques, tools, and supplier base. The incumbent will partner with researchers who are piloting new techniques, technologies, or supplier partners to proactively guide them through the process, identifying needs, and developing solutions to process or compliance hurdles.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Initially, the role will be focused on the Process Modernization effort
    • This workstream has been prioritized to review, and either update or completely change how we identify risk and mitigate it through our processes.
    • The current process was initially set over a decade ago and while updates have been made along the way, it is time to do a wholistic review, realignment, and restructure.
    • LMR is proud of its track record of managing hundreds of projects globally with minimal to no compliance findings (per recent audits). The goal is to maintain excellent results while streamlining and being nimble enough to enable innovation.
  • Monitor and track the compliance landscape to proactively identify and address changes to local, regional and international regulations that could impact Lilly's right to listen to customers.
  • Partner with BI&A on identifying and addressing process improvements needed to facilitate sharing of resources and stronger collaboration.
  • Partner with LMR Sourcing Associate Director on supplier capability evaluation and management
  • Lead research projects that pilot out new tools, techniques, or supplier capabilities.
  • Advise LMR associates on how to navigate through the compliance and process management when working on a new or unique challenge.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • A minimum of 3 years of market research experience.

Additional Skills/Preferences:

  • M.B.A., M.M.R. or other relevant advanced degree
  • Experience working with internal and external partners and collaborators.
  • Strong advocate for customer experience and research transformation
  • Direct experience implementing social science research, market research, or clinical research
  • Experience working at a market research or insights supplier
  • Prior Lean Six Sigma or Organizational Change Management experience
  • Strong collaboration with colleagues at all levels; able to work with and through others
  • Demonstrated learning agility and ability to think differently to incorporate new learning
  • Ability to think at an enterprise, business unit, affiliate, as well as functional level

  • Role may require early morning calls with team members in India at our LCCI offices or with suppliers who have personnel in other locations
  • Travel is not required < 10%
