Job Description
Alcon is looking for an Associate Director - MarTech Product Manager, reporting to the Senior Director, Digital Marketing Technologies, who will drive the strategy, planning, and execution of the next generation of Alcon's global marketing (CX) technology stack, delivering capabilities to enable intelligent and flawless experiences for our prospects and customers at every touchpoint. This role is a highly technical product manager and entrepreneurial problem solver who will partner across engineering, architecture, data science, and the business to solve complex business and customer needs and craft global digital marketing transformation. This role will focus on building e2e GTM capabilities through a scalable platform powered by data and Intelligence.
In this role, a typical day will include:
Essential Job Functions / Accountabilities:
- Partner with marketing, product, platform, and engineering teams to conceive, prioritize and deliver elite MarTech capabilities that empower our marketing teams and customers aligned to business goals
- Develop and implement a forward-thinking marketing technology ecosystem strategy that aligns with our business goals and positions us to be a leader in the industry
- Collaborate across the technology and partner organizations to create and regularly refine product vision, strategy, and roadmaps to accelerate capability maturity. Foster a customer-centric approach to deliver exceptional user experiences and enhance value
- Lead scrum team to prioritize and complete product roadmaps and initiatives
- Create a network throughout the organization to optimally communicate and align on priorities, remove friction, and increase decision making velocity
- Be daring and evangelize MarTech capability, drive consensus, and champion increased velocity and path to value. Establish and continuously measure product critical metrics, gauge impact and advise product strategy
- Develop and optimize marketing operations frameworks and drive product adoption demonstrating well-crafted trainings and playbooks
- Establish and improve a community of practice for the MarTech product and platform management; coach and mentor team-members
- Drive a high-performance culture through meticulous product management craft, bold vision, effective internal and external partnerships. Direct reports are in multiple time zones so working hours should be adapted for 1:1s and team meetings.
What You'll Bring To Alcon:
Key Requirements/Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +15 yrs; Assoc.+11 yrs; M.S.+4 yrs; PhD+3 yrs)
- The ability to fluently read, write, understand, and communicate in English.
- 7 years of related experience
- 5 Years of Proven Leadership
- Broad leadership experience in MarTech product and platform management, driving large scale growth initiatives and digital transformation
- Strong ability to develop and champion a product vision, strategy, and roadmap for a product area in support of customer needs and business goals
- Validated experience in building MarTech capabilities to support sophisticated orchestration across owned and paid channels (e.g. email, web, push, SMS, social, sales, and service)
- Sophisticated thinking in the application of AI/Gen AI in the marketing domain
- Validated leadership and communication skills, the ability to influence and inspire change in a matrixed globally diverse environment
- A reputation for being an impactful, creative problem solver with a passion for innovation and a track record for delivering high quality and timely results
- A high degree of fluency in technology and data and the architecture of an integrated CX ecosystem
- Understanding of marketing and performance marketing principles and strategies
- Deep knowledge of how marketers leverage data and intelligence to power highly relevant digital experiences and hands on experience in the platform capabilities to enable it
- Skilled in evaluating the competitive landscape, identifying compelling solutions, analyzing technologies, and assessing the importance of emerging platforms and tools
- Deep understanding of a wide range of marketing technologies and platforms, including CRM, journey orchestration, measurement and attribution, personalization, experimentation, media ad platforms, content management, and AI-driven solutions
- Acquia/Drupal/Site Studio, Widen, Adobe, Google Analytics, Tealium Tag Management, etc.
- Salesforce Marketing Cloud including Email Studio, Mobile Studio and Journey Builder, Adobe Campaign, etc.
- Tealium, Quantum Metrics, Segment, etc.
- Optimizely, Amplitude, Movable Ink, Acoustic, etc.
- 5+ years of people management experience with a record of mentoring and developing impactful teams. Support all aspects of IT career and capability development to meet the needs of Alcon, including attraction, retention and development of diverse technical talent, in the organization. Ensure robust career development, performance management, and succession planning
- Excellent leadership and social skills; ability to persuade, communicate the vision and motivate people at every level
Preferred qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, engineering, or equivalent
- 7+ years of product management experience with technically complex, platform products operating at significant scale
- 7+ years designing and delivering premier orchestration and channel activation products that solve complex organizational challenges
