CAMBA serves a diverse cross section of New Yorkers from new mothers in Brownsville to job seekers in the Rockaways. More than half of our clients are immigrants and refugees from around the globe. Over 85% of our families are in living in poverty, reflecting the challenges faced by nearly 1.7 million New Yorkers today.
CAMBA’s Department of Strategic Partnerships cultivates relationships with funders, stakeholders, and community partners in order to support CAMBA’s growth and high-quality programming. The Department includes Development, Institutional Giving, and Marketing & Communications Teams. The Development Team is responsible for individual and corporate gifts.
Position: Associate Director of Development
Reports To: Development Director
Location: 1720 Church Ave Brooklyn NY 11226 (Hybrid Position)
What The Associate Director of Development Does:
- Manage Database Manager.
- Support outreach for Annual Gala and manage other fundraising events (e.g. Cyclones Night at the Ballgame, and Race in Prospect Park)
- Working with Development Director and relevant program staff, oversee other events including corporate volunteer service days, ribbon cuttings, etc.
- Partner with the Communications Team on timeline and development of donor and event related activities including donor newsletters (digital and hard copy), annual gala preparation and day of activities.
- Oversee management of donor database including moves management process, donor research, and donor portfolios.
- Identify donors with capacity to increase giving. Work with Development Director to create a pipeline of major gift prospects.
- Work with Database Manager on prospective donor research and other wealth screening tools to aid in the moves management process.
- Collaborate with Web/Social Media Manager to increase frequency and reach of online fundraising efforts, including target marketing and analytics for revenue increase and retention.
- This position is hybrid. Day-to-day work is offsite (remote), but position requires flexibility for in-person special events and preparation, volunteer events and donor meetings.
Minimum Education/Experience Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent.
- Detail oriented with strong qualitative and quantitative skills.
- Ability to plan and launch new projects and processes.
Other Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in development and fundraising including managing donor communications (emails/newsletters) and special fundraising events.
- Must have exceptional communication skills (verbal and written) and track record as a creative problem solver.
Compensation: $85,000 - $100,000 annually
When salary ranges are listed, the range would represent the low and high end for the applicable position & program. The salary offered would be based on various factors unique to each program and candidate. This includes but is not limited to experience, education, budget and/or program size, internal equity, skills and other factors that may be required for the position and organization.Â
Status: Full-time (35 hours per week)
