Associate Director, Procurement
Dragonfly Therapeutics is seeking an Associate Director of Procurement to develop, advance, and lead the implementation of procurement and sourcing strategies for the Company. This position will report to the Head of Finance and will partner with key stakeholders across the Company. The successful candidate will play a critical role in developing an inter-department procurement strategy to manage contracts with external vendors and the negotiation and initiation of new procurement partnerships.
Responsibilities:
- Support internal stakeholders in the procurement process to define business requirements, understand cost drivers, and develop strategies to manage cost and time efficient purchases
- Scope, evaluate, and analyze quotes and potential suppliers that identify cost-saving opportunities while meeting Dragonfly’s standards for performance and quality
- Negotiate agreement contracts and pricing terms with service providers from academia and industry, acting as primary liaison between internal stakeholders and vendors
- Work collaboratively with functional leadership heads to develop and maintain best practices and training documents for cross-functional teams
- Contribute to developing and managing procurement budgets, expense tracking and budget variance
- Provide regular reports on procurement performance and budget adherence to the senior leadership team
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years in finance or purchasing experience, 5+ years in the Biotech or Pharmaceutical industry required
- P2P (Procure to Pay) experience/general process knowledge required
- Process and customer service focus required with attention to detail
- Proven track record of successful procurement strategy development and execution, including cost optimization and risk management
- Demonstrated experience in writing, reviewing and negotiating contracts, supplier agreements, and managing vendor relationships
- Analytical mindset with a data-driven approach to decision-making and problem-solving
- Knowledge of relevant regulations and quality standards (e.g., FDA, cGMP) related to procurement in the biotech industry
- Microsoft Offices skill proficiency in (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, meet deadlines, and balance multiple priorities
- Independently motivated, detail-oriented, and “can-do” attitude
