The Associate Director would develop and enact marketing plans to drive achievement of business objectives for Alcon's PCIOL Franchise. Partner with Global Marketing in defining brand strategy, claims and evidence, and new product launch strategy to ensure that the product/brand strategy aligns to the US consumer needs. Adapt and deploy brand strategy and launch new products in the United States while based in Fort Worth, TX.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Understand key insights, develop and implement marketing strategies, programs/campaigns & ready-to-use promotional materials (e.g., advertising, DTC, informational webinars/blogs, direct marketing, trade shows/public events, online/in-office promotions, business customer relationship building, etc.)
- Provide leadership, mentor and development of team of brand leaders which are responsible for Professional and Consumer marketing.
- Conduct research to identify target customers and customize marketing messages/media channels/strategies to improve product/brand awareness and adoption.
- Lead Interagency Team of strategic creative, communications, and media planning stakeholders to drive measurable impact and efficiency within advertising & promotion budget.
- Provide marketing plan direction, mentorship, and oversight to ensure best-in-class marketing execution (for brand new product launches & established in- line products) and maximum marketing return on investment (by minimizing duplication and growing impact), including Medical Affairs plans, scientific evidence, and podium presence
- Coordinate all brand marketing initiatives that support achievement of annual and intermediate-term sales and market share objectives
- Provide strategic input for Medical/Economic Evidence and publication plans as member of Global Medical Evidence Teams
- Regularly update campaign materials and promotional assets as Alcon and competitor market presence evolves and customer needs/preferences change
- Synthesize and share standard processes (e.g. lessons learned new product launches, etc.) creating a cycle of continuous improvement in marketing execution and application of novel channel innovations across the US Surgical business
- Partner with sales leadership and data scientist teams to establish Commercial KPIs and track performance of commercial initiatives with discipline
- Provide input into "upstream" Global franchise strategy to ensure innovation programs (internal R&D and external L&A/partnerships) meet US market needs
- Reports to the Director, Marketing, IOL Franchise. Works closely with key members of the US Commercial team to achieve overall objectives.
How to Thrive at Alcon:
- Experience leading/implementing Digital Health strategy, SaaS solutions in health care and/or related Professional Services
- 5+ years of broad experience in progressive marketing positions in highly competitive global medical devices, pharmaceutical or consumer health care product industries (customer facing/sales experience and/or ophthalmology experience preferred, but not required)
- Previous experience in a country marketing role
- Proven expertise in global product strategy, brand marketing, and portfolio management
- Track-record of successful of the latest product launches
- Capability to work in a sophisticated cross-functional framework, including strong collaborator experience and ability to lead cross functional teams in a fast-paced and high-demand environment
- Demonstrated strong long-term critical thinking and planning for business success. Ability to bring innovative thinking, challenging status quo and managing the ambiguity
Key Requirements/Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school+15 yrs; Assoc.+11 yrs; M.S.+4 yrs; PhD+3 yrs)
- The ability to fluently read, write, understand, and communicate in English.
- 7 Years of Relevant Experience
