What you'll be doing

Baxter Healthcare's mission is to save and sustain lives by delivering products and services that are the essential building blocks of healthcare. Of utmost importance to Baxter is ensuring the safety and security of its products. Baxter is seeking a leader of Product Cybersecurity whose responsibility is to ensure the security of the global corporation's medical devices, products, and applications. The candidate will lead a team of 8-10 security engineers and project managers with responsibility for a third of Baxter's portfolio, focused on medication delivery, specialized monitoring, clinical nutrition, and advanced surgery portions of the business.

• Manage cybersecurity of a portfolio of products at various stages of lifecycles from concept through design, launch, maintenance, and discontinuation.
• Functional leadership and development of team members consisting of cybersecurity engineers and project managers.
• Collaboration with product development peers to drive product roadmaps toward continuous cybersecurity improvement.
• Work with cybersecurity leaders across organization to manage and improve corporate product security processes, tooling, and governance.
• Assess, and reduce over time, the security risk of the product portfolio.
• Communicate product security health, and escalations, with business leaders.
• Interface with regulators, ministries of health, and certifying bodies to represent the company and products in reviews, certifications, and notifications.
• Participate in industry activities, staying aligned with, and strategically driving guidance and regulations.

What you'll bring

Your expertise in start-of-the-art security principles and ability to lead team members in maturing the security position of products while navigating the balance of security and business needs amidst the additional complexity of patient safety. You will communicate effectively both with the 'doers' and leaders of the organization. Your ability to keep tabs on current security industry and regulator trends to prepare the organization for the next generation of needs.

• BS in computer science, engineering, mathematics, information management or related field required, MS preferred, 15+ years of experience.
• 8-10 years of experience in industry- healthcare, medical device preferred.
• Must be experienced with managing product cybersecurity.
• Knowledge of threat modeling, security risk assessment, SAST/DAST, penetration testing, SCA/vulnerability management, and incident response.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity standards such as UL2900, NIST 800-53, ISO 27001, and FIPS 140 is preferred.
• Experience with design control requirements (CFR 820.30, ISO 13485), risk management (ISO 14971), and regulatory interoperability guidance are nice to have.
• Requires strong organization and communication skills, with the ability to interface with both technical and non-technical personnel.

We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all our employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. To that end, this position has a base salary range of $128,000 to $252,000 plus an annual incentive bonus. The above range represents the expected base salary range for this position. The actual salary may vary based upon several factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills/experience, time in the role, business line, and geographic/office location.
