The sales force optimization & capabilities team will continue to leverage the centralized model to meet BU needs and will also look to support/integrate the LUSA transformation effort to Omni Channel Customer Engagement.

Responsibilities

The Consultant Sales Capabilities/Optimization will report to the Director - Global Sales Capabilities/Optimization and will be accountable for capabilities including sales force sizing and structure, territory alignment design and maintenance, field call planning, and customer targeting.

BUILD THE FUTURE ORGANIZATION: CAPABILITIES
  • Directly impact short- and long-term enterprise-wide revenue by building and delivering recommendations on Sales Force size, structure & alignment, and customer prioritization to the BU leadership


  • Support the growth of new in-house capabilities in both Indianapolis and Lilly's global business service center in LCCI
  • Develop deep functional expertise in Sales Force Optimization
  • Monitor customer and marketplace to identify opportunities to optimize sales operations strategy
  • Continue to reduce reliance on vendors to the minimum effective level


  • Maintain service levels and quality to support on-going business needs


Key accountabilities will include the following:

  • Implement sales force optimization for the US across BUs while meeting business needs
  • Partner with other affiliates to determine their organizational needs for sales force optimization
  • Manage the effective deployment of information and business processes in support of BU sales strategy


  • Evaluate and resolve complex business and operational problems and challenges that arise in the course of those projects
  • Partner with the GOSO Operations Advisors to the lead the BU Sr. management through the execution of projects
  • Identify opportunities for enhanced sales force execution
  • Be accountable for the performance and results
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and any applicable state and federal marketing and promotion laws and regulations.


Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • At least 5 years of pharmaceutical industry experience
  • Qualified candidate must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States. Lilly does not anticipate providing sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B or TN status) for this position

  • Experience in and market knowledge of BU brands and/or customer segments


  • Excellent communication (written & verbal) and prioritization skills with attention to detail
  • High level of motivation and a strong desire to find creative solutions to challenging situations
  • Demonstrated ability to enforce business rules and policies in a constructive but disciplined manner
  • Strong process and operational mindset
  • Prior experience in sales operations is preferred
