About The Role:

Carrier is looking for an experienced result-oriented professional with deep knowledge and highly developed technical expertise in Digitalization and Automation techniques. In a highly complex supply chain network, this role will play as the key person responsible to bring connectivity across digital systems and tools. Demonstrated ability to bring together the data, systems, tools, and related analytics capabilities to the end users and deliver a 360-degree view of suppliers or similar domain.

The Senior Automation Engineer, Digital Supply Chain role is expected to bring emerging technology and data science capabilities to support Supply Chain goals and improve affordability, availability, and agility within supply chain functions in collaboration with business SMEs. The success of this role will depend on working collaboratively with software developers, database architects, data analysts and business SMEs on key strategic initiatives and ensure systems and processes are talking to each other.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Lead data and system integration strategy and architecture for supply chain sourcing systems, tools
  • Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, re-designing processes for greater scalability, etc. with focus on innovation and challenging status quo.
  • Develop roadmap based on priority with focus on stakeholder needs & expectations
  • Ensure consistency of usage of data elements across systems and tools in collaboration with tool owner and data strategy leads
  • Deliver Supplier 360 visualization of data for deeper insights including KPIs but not limited to spend, performance, risk etc.
  • Build advanced capabilities to automate standard processes and tools wherever possible
  • Champion utilization of automated tools across the supply chain organization to minimize manual effort
  • Emerging Technology: Bring external and industry best practices in the field of automation and machine learning / AI to Supply Chain CoE with focus on continuous improvement
  • Digital Partnership: Manage strong digital partnership associated with cloud architecture, data platforms, identify synergy, represent voice of SC;

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business analytics, or quantitative field
  • 12+ years of experience in information systems, data analytics, or insights
  • 5+ years of experience working in supply chain domain with technology focus

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in Supply Chain or Business analytics with 7+ years of experience in information systems, data analytics, or insights strongly preferred
  • Ability to build data visualization using tools e.g. PowerBI, Tabelau or Qlikview
  • Experience with an industrial manufacturer strongly preferred
  • Experience in consensus building, influencing, facilitation and negotiation
  • Experience with managing end to end digital data flow and delivery and management of systems and tools to drive results strongly preferred
  • Ability to dive into large volume of data to develop insights and build hypothesis; set up datasets to test hypotheses.
  • Strong experience building and articulating business cases to facilitate data-centric strategy
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, including consensus building, influencing, facilitation and negotiation
  • Strong presentation skills especially with executive audience
