Associate Director, TMF Manager
Job Description
Direct Records Management operations for a designated IQVIA regional office or group to ensure projects are appropriately resourced and employees are trained and developed to meet project needs. Supervises and manages people managers who manage or support studies to ensure quality, time, and budget deliverables are met. Work with staff to ensure that all project deliverables are completed ensuring quality deliverables on time and in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), policies, and practices. May work with relevant country/regional/global leadership in formulating effective strategic goals and objectives and assures operational alignment with senior management priorities.
Essential Functions• Manages staff in accordance with organization's policies and applicable regulations• Responsibilities include planning, assigning, directing work, appraising performance, guiding professional development, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing employee relations issues and resolving problems• Approves actions on human resources matters• Direct the hiring and selection process for staff by conducting candidate review through participation in the interviewing process• Evaluate current methods and develops office/region based tools for on-boarding training for new staff in conjunction with Human Resources and Global Talent training programs• Ensure that staff is meeting defined workload, quality, and budget metrics through regular review and reporting of findings as outlined by management• Determine operational strategies by conducting needs assessments, performance reviews, capacity planning, and cost/benefit analyses, identifying and evaluating state-of-the-art technologies, defining user requirements, establishing technical specifications, production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards, contributing information and analysis to organizational strategic plans and reviews• Identify processes and tasks which can be centralized, automated or standardized• Actively provide guidance and review of the scope of work, objectives, timelines, quality of deliverables, of the processes• Act as a coach and mentor for staff members as they develop in their roles• Collaborate with project leadership and other functional leadership to manage project related challenges and to achieve exemplary customer service• Identify skill and competency gaps at the individual level and work to craft development plans that will close the gaps• Participate in corporate or departmental quality or process improvement initiatives• Collaborate with other management and leadership team members to proactively identify project needs and resourcing solutions in order to manage process issues and obstacles• Work with the global team members to ensure that project budget(s) meet financial and company goals (realization targets), with a focus on proactively ensuring adherence to change control processes• Meet department financial objectives by estimating requirements, preparing an annual budget, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, initiating corrective actions;• Develop service level agreements for various processes that have been automated and centralized, and ensure compliance to the same• Implement a corrective and preventive action to ensure adherence to the timelines and deliverables• Allocate resources appropriate to their experience and training• Manage the quality of assigned staff's work through regular review and evaluation of work product. This review may include review of written materials, soliciting internal / external customer feedback, and review of project assignment completion• Identifies quality risks and issues and create appropriate corrective action plans• Ensure that staff has the proper materials, systems access and training to complete job responsibilities• Provide oversight for the execution of the training plan, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) review and mentored training experiences, as applicable
Qualifications• Bachelor's Degree Bachelor's Degree in health care or other scientific discipline or educational equivalent or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Requirements• 10 yrs of experience working in clinical research or technically-related areas with 5 years experience in a leadership capacity. Equivalent combination of education, training and experience.• Strong leadership skills.• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external coworkers, managers, and clients.• Knowledge of financial parameters, project financial tracking, and accounting methods.• Effective time management skills and ability to manage competing priorities.• Excellent organizational, customer service skills and problem solving skills.• In depth knowledge of, and skill in applying, applicable clinical research regulatory requirements, i.e. International Conference on Harmonization (ICH), Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines;• Strong understanding of other IQVIA functions and their inter- relationship. Effective presentation skills;• Strong written and verbal communication skills including good command of English.• Computer skills including proficiency in use of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.• Position requires a significant amount of writing and keyboarding involving repetitive motions with fingers and sitting for prolonged periods of time.• May require occasional travels
