The Tutoring team is experiencing rapid growth, including at least one contract that is targeted to reach thousands of students and employ up to 3,500 tutors. The Tutoring unit's growth - both as a business unit and at the individual contract level - raises the need for new operational systems. The Associate Director, Tutoring Systems & Special Projects, will work with Amplify's Tutoring leadership to optimize current service delivery and meet the demands of the unit's largest contracts, starting with LAUSD.

This role will work closely with the Tutoring team's leadership, Tutoring's LAUSD team, and Amplify's HR team. The Associate Director, Tutoring Systems & Special Projects will develop and implement systems, structures, and processes that, in the immediate term, enable service delivery in LAUSD and, in the near term, facilitate more efficient and stable tutoring operations.

  • Serve as the tutoring-HR liaison on specifications for hiring contractors and support the hiring process

  • Routinely review the efficacy of staffing structures and operational systems and recommend refinements
  • Convene Tutoring leadership, PMs, OSSs, and Tutor Coaches; identify operational challenges and inefficiencies, as well as bright spots and practices to expand or perpetuate
  • Create normed implementation dashboards for reporting key metrics
  • Monitor implementation metrics
  • Recommend refinements to achieve greater efficiency and operational stability, with an immediate focus on optimizing the PM function
  • Tutoring operations
  • Oversee the initial training and deployment of contractors
  • Develop an mCLASS set-up strategy for large contracts and oversee implementation of this strategy
  • Develop a process and tool for logging and reporting notes from tutoring sessions, prioritizing usability and data stability and security
  • As they are identified, implement operational improvements to achieve greater efficiency and stability, training key teammates including program management, coaching, and/or operations colleagues

Basic Qualifications:
