The Associate Director/Director, Opinion Leader Engagement & Programming is responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive key opinion leader (KOL) engagement strategy for the company and leading Heart Flow’s peer-to-peer speaker bureau strategy and execution. They will further build out and scale the existing speaker bureau, overseeing the identification and development of speakers with relevant expertise to support the education strategy. This individual will work in close collaboration with field medical and cross functional partners to ensure education is timely, relevant and effective. They should have a demonstrated ability to build effective relationships with KOLs, shape educational content strategy and provide effective feedback to speakers.

We are seeking a high energy, collaborative leader who is passionate about healthcare professional education and comfortable working in a fast paced start-up culture. This role reports to the VP, Medical Affairs.

Candidates can be based anywhere in the continental US near a major airport. Must be willing and able to travel (up to 40%).#LI-JB1; #LI-Remote

Job Responsibilities:

KOL Engagement

  • Lead strategies/mapping exercises to identify thought leaders
  • Identify and cultivate speakers
  • Lead strategy for executive encounters at congresses, in collaboration with field medical
  • Support identification of potential experts for advisory boards

Speakers Bureau

  • Own speakers bureau strategy and execution
  • Identify national/regional KOLs appropriate to educate different stakeholders
  • Support speaker identification for congress symposia
  • Lead speaker training strategy and implementation in partnership with field medical
  • Develop and implement best practices and processes
  • Identify and implement ideas for continual improvement
  • Oversee training of internal teams on speaker program processes, systems, templates, and/or tools
  • Develop tools to support internal and external awareness of educational programs
  • Identify and manage agency partners
  • Oversee all operational and reporting components of bureau with support from agency or internal coordinator

Skills Needed:

  • Demonstrated ability to cultivate and maintain strong relationships with KOLs
  • Experience in KOL advocacy role or someone who has extensive KOL relationships with Imaging Cardiologist/Radiologists, Interventional Cardiologists, General Cardiologists
  • Experience managing a speaker bureau from strategy to execution preferred, or other relevant experience shaping and delivering education to HCPs
  • Embraces patient-centric values, including highest ethical and compliance standards
  • Strong cross-functional leadership, collaboration and communication skills
  • Excellent communication, presentation and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage/prioritize multiple projects and adapt to a changing, fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work in a smaller team environment with a willing, all hands-on deck attitude

Educational Requirements & Work Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in medtech/pharma/biotech with experience
  • 5+ years of Cardiovascular experience
  • Must be able and willing to travel (up to 40%)
