Associate Director/Director, Strategic Partnerships

The Associate Director/Director of Strategic Partnerships is responsible for identifying, sourcing, evaluating, executing, and maintaining strategic partnerships, collaborations, investments, and other relevant corporate growth initiatives. Transactions are focused on strategic partnerships for technology integrations, ancillary services agreements that expand Biofourmis Care@Home capabilities, channel partnerships, and other commercial partnership agreements that support growth initiatives. The successful candidate will establish and maintain a rich pipeline of companies and opportunities that can fill strategic, technical, clinical, commercial, and/or operational gaps and be integral in evaluating each for corporate value to Biofourmis. They will build strong corporate relationships with third parties and be responsible for all aspects of a deal process, including negotiating terms, reaching internal and external alignment, conducting due diligence, and facilitating execution of agreements. They will partner closely with internal stakeholders, including the executive leadership team, Strategic Partnership Management, Product Strategy, Medical Leads, Legal, Sales, Marketing, Clinical, Operations, Finance, and R&D to actualize business objectives through appropriate partnership deals. They will have a strong business acumen and be able to create preliminary financial models to better understand opportunities and work in partnership with Finance to develop detailed financial models when necessary. Post-deal they will continue to be involved in maintaining corporate relationships and facilitating agreements such as amendments, letters, and terminations, as well as acting as the corporate development lead for internal discussions. The successful candidate will stay abreast of industry news and track transactions, press releases, earnings calls, webinars, and other forms of corporate intelligence of interest to Biofourmis. The candidate will contribute to and help maintain a Competitive Intelligence Group. They will be data driven and comfortable researching and analyzing key information regarding potential opportunities. The ideal candidate will bring industry expertise to Biofourmis and hit the ground running with potential partnerships to pursue. A deal sheet exemplifying prior experience with strategic partnerships will be requested and candidates will be evaluated on the quantity, size, and variety of the strategic partnership deals they have been involved with and their relevance to the space Biofourmis operates in.

The successful candidate must have prior experience in healthcare technology, virtual care delivery (e.g. hospital at home, remote patient monitoring, virtual chronic condition management), digital health, consumer health, SaaMD (software as a medical device), healthcare SaaS (software as a service), or medical device development. This is a remote position within a highly motivated geographically dispersed team and is ideally suited for someone in the contiguous US.

Responsibilities
  • Build and maintain a rich pipeline of potential companies and opportunities that are of strategic value to Biofourmis, including ones that address specific needs from the leadership team, Product, Medical, Commercial, and/or Operations groups
  • Research, identify, evaluate, prioritize, negotiate, and facilitate execution of transactions with corporate partnerships, including technology integrations, ancillary services agreements that expand Biofourmis Care@Home capabilities, channel partnerships and other commercial partnership agreements that support growth initiatives.
  • Work closely with external third parties and internal stakeholders, including senior leaders, program managers, product strategy, medical leads, commercial, operations, and engineering to present findings and reach alignment on value and priority of transactions
  • Lead all aspects of a deal process from introduction, negotiation of terms, execution of definitive agreements, post-transaction maintenance, and termination.
  • Work directly with legal and cross functional teams to assess, propose, and align on contractual terms
  • Comfortable and proficient with financial modeling to help inform deal valuation
  • Must be able to unpack key performance indicators of potential opportunities including synergy, competitive differentiation, cost, profitability, employee talent, manufacturability, scalability, and other KPIs of corporate importance and systematically quantify and prioritize opportunities.
  • Conduct due diligence and develop a framework for effective comparison and prioritization of various opportunities.
  • Recommend proposed deal structures in conjunction with relevant internal stakeholders
  • Lead recurring and ad-hoc internal meetings with senior leaders and stakeholders related to corporate intelligence, transaction tracking, and new opportunity evaluation
  • Manage and contribute to other enterprise wide initiatives as a corporate development leader
  • Maintain insight into the digital health ecosystem and the landscape of digital technology to identify key trends and opportunities and contribute to and help maintain a Competitive Intelligence Group.


Qualifications
  • 7+ years experience in corporate development, investment banking, private equity, management consulting, or other roles involving financial and strategic evaluation of companies and technologies
  • 5+ years experience in healthcare technology, virtual care delivery (e.g. hospital at home, remote patient monitoring, virtual chronic condition management), digital health, consumer health, SaaMD (software as a medical device), healthcare SaaS (software as a service), or medical device development
  • A deal sheet indicating prior experience with strategic partnership deals, with a variety of deal types and sizes in relevant industries
  • Deal sheet must include transactions with strategic partnerships including technology integrations, ancillary services agreements, channel partnerships and other commercial partnership agreements.
  • High attention to detail and proven project management skills
  • Self-starter, able to wear multiple hats in a fast-paced, dynamic startup environment
  • Strong leadership, collaboration, and communication skills
  • Bachelors Degree in relevant field required
  • Graduate degree strongly preferred: MBA, Finance, or relevant field
