Your Impact:

Cosmopolitan's Emerging Platforms team is looking for a TikTok-obsessed Associate Editor to work with the Emerging Platforms Director to plan and execute viral content for Cosmopolitan's Snapchat Discover and TikTok channels, which reach millions of viewers daily. Using quick and visual writing skills, they will help craft promotional articles and assets for special highly visible projects related to apps and social networks. They will also be responsible for managing content schedules and production workflows to help the team see splashy projects through to completion. (Your name will always be tagged to really brag-worthy stuff!) Video editing is a plus, but not a requirement. Inclusive teamwork is a requirement, though, as this position is nestled among a team of talented designers and producers.

Responsibilities:

• Write and edit copy that captures the attention of a global audience for Cosmopolitan's daily Snapchat Discover channel
• Work with the Senior Motion Designer to help your editorial visions come to life
• Write unique scripts for TikToks based on articles from our site the magazine (and ideas chaotically brewed on Slack)
• Collect and organize TikTok deliverables from high-profile contributors and edit the videos if time allows
• Write on-site articles to announce and promote Cosmo's next big initiatives
• Gather and interpret weekly performance data from all active platforms
• Distribute platform reports to the staff and C-suite at Cosmo

Qualifications:

• 1-2 years editorial or professional social media experience
• Funny and fast writer with an impressive mental database of pop culture references and reacts
• Natural understanding of what makes good social media content on platforms like Snapchat Discover and TikTok
• Driven to grow platforms and adapt to ever-evolving strategy
• Especially nimble at creating concepts for bite-sized content
• Has an obsessive knowledge of TikTok experts in various fields
• Can efficiently communicate processes and deadlines to team members
• Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and Premiere are considered a plus

The base salary for this role is between $50,000 - $58,000. The actual base pay offered is dependent upon many factors, such as: transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future
