Associate Editorial Director, Events

Reporting to the Editorial Director of Axios Events, the Associate Editorial Director will play a critical role in producing newsworthy events content as Axios continues our incredible growth trajectory. 

Go deeper: This role has multiple responsibilities, including but not limited to:

• Pitch, research and write event concepts and recap articles as assigned
• Build attendee lists for editorial roundtables across a variety of topics
• Prep moderators for interviews by putting together research, scripts and questions
• Serve as an editorial producer onsite for events
• Live tweet newsy segments as assigned
• Ensure that our events portfolio reflects our editorial standards, diverse points of view, and help Axios stay at the forefront of news

The details: Ideal candidates will embody an entrepreneurial spirit, and a passion for Axios’ mission, journalism and have the following skills:

• 3-5 years of journalism experience
• Events experience is highly preferred
• TV news producing experience is highly preferred
• Experience working with editors and reporters in a newsroom
• Excellent writing and research skills
• Familiarity with Axios Smart Brevity writing style and communication
• Proven editorial judgment 
• Demonstrated knowledge of digital and social media landscape
• Possesses a diverse and extensive rolodex
• Ability to perform in high-pressure situations and meet deadlines
• Ability to travel as needed
• Video editing experience a plus
