About the Position

OneEnergy Renewables is seeking an Associate, Energy Solutions. This Associate will work with the Energy Solutions team to identify, evaluate, and recommend emerging technologies, strategic commercial opportunities, and partnerships that align with OneEnergy’s core competencies and competitive strengths. The scope of this role will include guided yet independent research and documentation of new initiatives; collaboration with various internal teams to analyze new initiatives; supporting the development of business cases and action plans for top opportunities; and executing on new business ideas to expand and augment OneEnergy’s solar energy project pipeline. This role is important to help us navigate through exciting, unchartered territory. This entry-level role also manages schedules, arranges assignments, and communicates progress to all team members all with an eye on the goal for helping shape OneEnergy’s new initiatives efforts across the country and making clean energy more accessible.


Responsibilities:

  • Schedule regular meetings and record decisions (i.e., assigned tasks and next steps).
  • Break projects into achievable tasks, set schedules and goals, create and update workflows.
  • Prepare and provide documentation to internal teams and key stakeholders.
  • Monitor project progress and address potential issues.
  • Coordinate quality controls to ensure deliverables meet requirements.
  • Measure and report on project performance.
  • Act as a key point of contact for all project information.
  • Participate in managing and approving expenses.
  • Conduct research on a range a range of topics, including new technologies, utility tariffs, jurisdictional permitting materials, landowner details, GIS data, policy and regulatory data, and market intelligence.
  • Manage multiple research initiatives simultaneously, working collaboratively with members of OneEnergy’s Development, Real Estate, Delivery, Engineering, and GIS teams.
  • Document research findings, analysis, and recommendations in multiple platforms, including longform written narrative (i.e., Internal Memo), short-form presentation style (i.e., PowerPoint), and via inputs to internal system and tools platforms (i.e., database).
  • Develop and build internal and external relationships, which will include conducting outreach via phone and email engaging with audiences such as: community stakeholders, governmental/regulatory agencies, utilities, customers and external consultants, and landowners to further research efforts and explore new opportunities.
  • The overall vision of this role is to help stand up new business streams for OneEnergy by exploring and documenting ideas for new initiatives, conducting prioritized investigation and analysis of these initiatives, reviewing, and communicating results to internal teams, and supporting development of execution plans and project implementation.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of or background in the renewable energy industry is preferred but not required.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, both oral and written.
  • Proven ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable deliverables to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Self-motivated with proven ability to take ownership, initiative, and accountability.

  • Can require travel, up to 1 weeks per month or about 15-25% of working time.

Qualifications:

  • 1-3+ year of experience working in in a professional environment.
  • Experience in Microsoft Office/Office 365, Google Apps, Salesforce, and database management.
  • Experience with solar energy is preferred, including practical experience dealing with project development, including site identification, real estate acquisition, land, and title matters, permitting, interconnection, and community outreach.
  • Experience in a sales environment is preferred.
  • Experience with project management is preferred.

OneEnergy’s compensation packages are dependent on an array of factors including, but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, geographic location, and other organizational needs. A reasonable estimate of the salary for this role is $70,000-$90,000. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at the top of this range. In addition, we provide generous Paid Time Off (six weeks/year) and an impactful Volunteer Time Off Program.
